Markus Schultz Pres. Elevation Lyrics

Somewhere

When you were talking,
I wasn't listening to a word you said

When you were talking,
I wasn't listening to a word you said
I was somewhere,
Thinking something,
Feeling someone else.

I was somewhere,
Thinking something,
Feeling someone else.

Why don't you stop talking

Even in my head

Overall Meaning

, I'm not really here

Why don't you stop talking

Even in my head, I'm not really here

I'm somewhere listening

To the music of my fears

I'm somewhere listening

To the music of my fears

The lyrics of Somewhere by Markus Schulz vs. Elevation feat. Justine Suissa revolve around disconnection from a conversation and feeling disconnected from the person you are speaking to. There's also a sense of being lost in one's thoughts, being caught up in one's emotions, and not really present in the conversation. The lyrics suggest that the person talking is not being listened to and their words have no impact on the listener's mind. Instead, the listener is engrossed in their own thoughts, feelings, and fears.

The chorus, "I was somewhere, thinking something, feeling someone else," captures the sense of dissociation from the current moment and being engulfed in one's inner world. The second verse highlights this even more, with the person wishing the other would stop talking so they can retreat into their own mind space.

Overall, the lyrics of Somewhere convey a feeling of being lost, disconnected, and detached from reality. It's a common feeling that many people experience in everyday life, and the song captures this emotion beautifully.

This is a classic! I wish Trance was still like this.

Jumping into the studio to make music with heart and soul. We need hypnotic tunes like this again.

@TigerWoodsLibido

Markus Schulz understands what trance music really is. Much like Dance 2 Trance did in the early 90s. That weird, spacey sound that hypnotizes you. Really does a great job.

@SceneArtisan

Well, he did - now (2022) he's shit.

@prestigious5s23

And that is exactly what was lost as the years went by. The original trance sound that clearly built on top of ambient music, which was always known as the trance sound in the 70s, 80s, etc, was what made it so popular. It was very dreamy that took you on a journey like no other, even if the track was 15 minutes long. There's not a single trance producer around today I believe that even takes that into consideration when making music.

@@prestigious5s23 perfectly said for sure. I agree 💯 And Dance2trance really brought that true trance sound. That dreamy hypnotic sound. Spacey as you say, I love it so much. I want to bring this back. And your right about the ambient part. My son is 14 and is huge into ambient of 70s,80s etc. beautiful stuff and Markus nails that dreamy sound. 😮❤

@Lovelife-Peacejoy777
