The song โ1st N 3rdโ by Marlo Lil Baby Future speaks about the topic of drug dealing and the life that comes with it. The chorus repeats the phrases โfinessin and trappinโ and โtrappin and rappinโ multiple times, which indicates the repetitive cycle of dealing drugs and making music. The three artists in the song, Marlo, Lil Baby, and Future, reference their experiences in the drug game and how it has led them to their current success.ย
The lyrics in the verses mention different aspects of drug dealing. For example, the line โThumb through that check when I count up that check/Like I'm playing three dice, I'm breakin the bankโ suggests that counting drug money is like a game of chance, where one can either win or lose big. Additionally, the line โTrappin these bitches from Hong Kongโ describes the business aspect of drug dealing, where one can expand their market to international territories. The song also alludes to the consequences of drug dealing, for instance, drug addiction, as seen in the line, โServin the fish, they be draining your nose.โ Overall, the song depicts the dangerous and illegal profession of drug dealing.
