In 2001, the band regrouped, with guitarist James Valentine added to the line-up, and pursued a new direction under the name: Maroon 5. At this point, Jesse Carmichael switched to playing the keyboards and this has become his main instrument in the band (although he also plays rhythm guitar to this day). After these changes, Maroon 5 signed with Octone Records and released their debut album, "Songs About Jane", in June 2002. The album's lead single "Harder to Breathe", received heavy airplay, which helped the album to debut at number six on the Billboard 200 chart. The band won the Grammy Award for Best New Artist in 2005. For the next few years, the band toured extensively worldwide in support of Songs About Jane and produced two live recordings: 2004's "1.22.03.Acoustic" and 2005's "Live Friday the 13th". In 2006, Ryan Dusick officially left the band after suffering from serious wrist and shoulder injuries and was replaced by Matt Flynn. The band recorded their second album, "It Won't Be Soon Before Long" and released it in May 2007. The album reached number one on the US Billboard 200 chart and the lead single, "Makes Me Wonder", became the band's first number-one song on the Billboard Hot 100.
On September 21, 2010, the band released their third studio album entitled "Hands All Over". It was re-released in 2011 to include the single "Moves like Jagger" (featuring Christina Aguilera). While the original version of the album received mixed reviews, "Moves like Jagger" reached the number one position on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The band released their next album, "Overexposed", on June 26, 2012. All four singles of the album were really successful on the charts - for example, the second single from Overexposed, "One More Night" (released on June 19, 2012), reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100. In 2014, the band signed with Interscope Records and released their fifth studio album, "V", with the very-first line-up of six official band members, as keyboardist and backing vocalist PJ Morton became an official member in 2012. The album debuted at top of the weekly Billboard 200 chart. Since its debut in 2002, the band has sold more than 15 million albums in the United States and over 100 million singles and 27 million albums worldwide.
Hello
Maroon 5 Lyrics

You take up all my time
The days are long and the nights will throw you away
'Cause the sun won't shine
Nobody ever mentions the weather to make or break your day
Nobody ever seems to remember, life is a game we play
And it's never gonna be the same
'Cause the years are fallin' by like the rain
It's never gonna be the same
Until' my mind's knew, comes to my house and says
Hello
There ain't no sense in feeling lonely
They got no faith in you
But I've got a feeling, you still owe me
So wipe from your shoes
Nobody ever mentions the weather to make or break your day
Nobody ever seems to remember, the life is a game we play
We live in the shadows and we had the chance and threw it away
And it's never gonna be the same
'Cause the years are fallin' by like the rain
It's never gonna be the same
Until' my mind's knew, comes to my house and says
Hello, hello
Hello, hello, hello
Hello, hello
Hello, hello
Oh yeah
The lyrics to Maroon 5's song Hello convey a sense of loneliness and a desire for connection. The first verse suggests that the singer doesn't feel like they know the person they're addressing, and that person takes up all their time. The second and third lines paint a bleak picture of the passing of time, with long days and nights that feel wasted because the sun doesn't shine. The singer notes that nobody ever mentions the weather, a mundane topic that can still have an impact on our moods, and nobody seems to remember that life is just a game. The third and fourth lines of the first verse suggest regret, that the singers have had the chance to live life differently, but they've thrown it away. The passing of time is a recurring theme, with the chorus repeating that it's never going to be the same, and that until something changes, the singer is stuck in a cycle of sameness.
The second verse suggests that other people might not believe in the singer or have faith in them, but the singer still feels that the person they're addressing owes them something. The second half of the verse repeats the themes from the first verse, with nobody mentioning the weather or remembering that life is a game. The chorus repeats again, emphasizing that things aren't going to change unless something changes, and we should say hello to those who come into our lives as new chances.
Overall, the lyrics to Hello suggest a sense of regret, lost opportunities, and loneliness. The singer is searching for something or someone to make them feel less alone, less stuck in a cycle of sameness. By acknowledging the passing of time and the importance of seizing opportunities when they arise, the song encourages listeners to reach out and make connections with others.

I think its important that bands like this, in the mainstream, are covering songs from some of the greatest bands of all time. Oasis is one of the best, if not the best, band to come in at least the last 20+ years. And for a mainstream band like Maroon 5 to do a cover really can lead fans to see the music they may have never seen before, its important that popular musicians play music of those who inspire them.

this is probably my favorite Maroon 5 song, even though it's a cover. It's so good!

I respectfully disagree. Wait. No I don't. They are amazing. They are good live and most their songs people can relate to, I know I can. But hey. Opinion...Still. Might want to look into Maroon 5 before you judge, bet you haven't heard half of their songs.

That's fair enough, not saying you have to go and listen to Oasis. Music is about making you happy!

I love Maroon 5 but seriously, they should stop doing cover versions of Oasis songs. they aren't made for Adams voice.
