Sunday Morning
Maroon 5 Lyrics

Sunday morning, rain is falling
Steal some covers, share some skin
Clouds are shrouding us in moments unforgettable
You twist to fit the mold that I am in
But things just get so crazy, living life gets hard to do
And I would gladly hit the road, get up and go if I knew
That someday it would lead me back to you
That someday it would lead me back to you

That may be all I need
In darkness, she is all I see
Come and rest your bones with me
Driving slow on Sunday morning
And I never want to leave

Fingers trace your every outline
Paint a picture with my hands
Back and forth we sway like branches in a storm
Change the weather, still together when it ends

That may be all I need
In darkness, she is all I see
Come and rest your bones with me
Driving slow on Sunday morning
And I never want to leave

But things just get so crazy, living life gets hard to do
Sunday morning, rain is falling and I'm calling out to you
Singing, someday it'll bring me back to you
Find a way to bring myself back home to you

That may be all I need
In darkness, she is all I see
Come and rest your bones with me
Driving slow on Sunday morning
Driving slow

It's flower in your hair
I'm a flower in your hair

This song is special to me because of the lyrics and the time it was released.
Especially "But things just get so crazy, living life gets hard to do
Sunday morning, rain is falling and I'm calling out to you "And I would gladly hit the road, get up and go if I knew That someday it would lead me back to you"

I think back to the 16 year old I was when this was released. The free spirit I was, the endless possibilities that lay in front of you as a teen. The blank book my life was.

The lesson to me is the older we grow the more we miss periods of our lives so make the most of every moment, and realize how significant some things are, and how un significant some things are. As I've gotten older I've learned I cared to much about things that didn't matter. And not cared enough about important things.

I know the song is about a past relationship, but it also feels like it is about reminiscing about a time period of their lives. It seems that even if they got back together it wouldn't be the same.

After 20 years after their debut. Still their best song hands down. This is the Maroon 5 I remember

This is when they were a proper band playing physical instruments. Nowadays you wouldn't know there's anyone else besides Adam Levine, and their sound has morphed to commercial electronic Pop. Whatever.

@LilHaseProductions yeah, I agree. You can't go wrong with 2-5-1 it always works even in pop music. If you grew up in church like me you've heard this chord progression every Sunday. Lol

it's just ii-V-i for the entire song lol. Go listen to Jazz/Neo Jazz... you might like it.
