In 2001, the band regrouped, with guitarist James Valentine added to the line-up, and pursued a new direction under the name: Maroon 5. At this point, Jesse Carmichael switched to playing the keyboards and this has become his main instrument in the band (although he also plays rhythm guitar to this day). After these changes, Maroon 5 signed with Octone Records and released their debut album, "Songs About Jane", in June 2002. The album's lead single "Harder to Breathe", received heavy airplay, which helped the album to debut at number six on the Billboard 200 chart. The band won the Grammy Award for Best New Artist in 2005. For the next few years, the band toured extensively worldwide in support of Songs About Jane and produced two live recordings: 2004's "1.22.03.Acoustic" and 2005's "Live Friday the 13th". In 2006, Ryan Dusick officially left the band after suffering from serious wrist and shoulder injuries and was replaced by Matt Flynn. The band recorded their second album, "It Won't Be Soon Before Long" and released it in May 2007. The album reached number one on the US Billboard 200 chart and the lead single, "Makes Me Wonder", became the band's first number-one song on the Billboard Hot 100.
On September 21, 2010, the band released their third studio album entitled "Hands All Over". It was re-released in 2011 to include the single "Moves like Jagger" (featuring Christina Aguilera). While the original version of the album received mixed reviews, "Moves like Jagger" reached the number one position on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The band released their next album, "Overexposed", on June 26, 2012. All four singles of the album were really successful on the charts - for example, the second single from Overexposed, "One More Night" (released on June 19, 2012), reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100. In 2014, the band signed with Interscope Records and released their fifth studio album, "V", with the very-first line-up of six official band members, as keyboardist and backing vocalist PJ Morton became an official member in 2012. The album debuted at top of the weekly Billboard 200 chart. Since its debut in 2002, the band has sold more than 15 million albums in the United States and over 100 million singles and 27 million albums worldwide.
The Fog
Maroon 5 Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
As the paperboy takes off without any news
Angels have wings you can feel free to use
The corner store drugs you can freely abuse
And I'm yelling and screaming cause
Baby you're driving me crazy
Everyone's getting somewhere and you're getting old
Career opportunities, they all have been sold
Along with your body, and most of your soul
And I'm yelling and screaming cause
Baby you're driving me crazy
If I could spare more remorse
From my emptied out pores
I would maybe
Cause the fog's getting thicker
And the world's spinning fast
The chaos is building
It's going to last
And it's so hard to see
And you're so hard to find
They're days when I think I am losing my mind
So keep painting pictures of beautiful scenes
Striking the canvas with deep blues and greens
Realists are frowning, they think you're obscene
As you work overtime to make sure they can dream
And I'm yelling and screaming cause
Baby you're driving me crazy
If I could spare more remorse
From my emptied out pores
I would maybe
Cause the fog's getting thicker
And the world's spinning fast
The chaos is building
It's going to last
And it's so hard to see
And you're so hard to find
They're days when I think I am losing my mind
And we yell
And we scream
As the fog's getting thicker
the world's spinning fast
The chaos is building
It's going to last
And it's so hard to see
And you're so hard to find
They're days when I think I am losing my mind
And the fog's getting thicker
the world's spinning fast
The chaos is building
It's going to last
And it's so hard to see
And you're so hard to find
There's days when I think I am losing my mind
"The Fog" by Maroon 5 speaks to the frustration and disillusionment people experience living in modern society. The first verse highlights the monotony and despair of living in a small town where people have lost a sense of purpose and satisfaction. The paperboy leaves without any news, indicating a lack of anything substantial happening in the town. People turn to drugs from the corner store to ease their pain and escape from their bleak reality. The singer is yelling and screaming because he feels like his partner is driving him crazy, possibly adding to his frustration and dissatisfaction with his life.
The second verse continues the theme of disillusionment, suggesting that the pursuit of success and career opportunities has left people empty and soulless. The lines "And most of your soul" and "career opportunities, they all have been sold," indicate how people have sacrificed their own happiness and goals in the pursuit of money and status. The singer wishes he could feel more remorse for his own emptiness and could change his situation.
The chorus repeats the lines "the fog's getting thicker, and the world's spinning fast. The chaos is building; it's going to last, and it's so hard to see, and you're so hard to find." The metaphor of the fog represents the confusion and uncertainty of the modern world. The world feels chaotic, and people struggle to find their place in it. The singer feels like he is losing his mind because the world and his life seem shrouded in this fog.
As for the interpretation of the lyrics "And we yell, and we scream," it could be people realizing their frustration with how things are going in the world, which leads to them screaming and venting out their frustrations.

@@realkarasflowers Cool, what's the reason you wanted to redo them anyway?
@realkarasflowers
@@notarobot69420 I realized that the older vids had a low audio quality (they were also badly "processed")
and I took the decision to redo them all with higher quality (professionally produced)
