This was the first time he had used the name "Marshall`s Convicts", despite the demo containing songs recorded as far back as 1999, when he was still with his previous band.
Over the years, he had tried to turn it in to a proper band - but, in early 2009, after playing with various unenthusiastic musicians between 2002 and 2008, finally decided to keep it as a solo project. Marshall`s Convicts have never played a gig.
The style of music, which was all written and recorded by Aypok himself, varies from track to track. The earlier music was much more pop-punk/punk-rock (with elements of grunge), being heavily influenced by bands such as Jug, Feeder, blink-182, etc. However, the music became progressively heavier, with some of the last tracks being metal.
Each new Marshall`s Convicts album/collection was released whenever there were enough new tracks to justify it. It should be noted that the they were not "released" in the tradition sense; they were all given away freely on last.fm and the now-defunct Marshall`s Convicts web site. The only collection to be distributed in a physical form was the demo (of which, only five copies were made).
