I found this song a day after my boyfriend and I had a big fight. There were things I wish I did differently and I wish I was more kind to him. This song inspired me so much that I actually wrote a response version of the song from the other perspective. I hope that maybe he will see it and know that I'm sorry. My parents divorced 5 years into their "marriage" (3 years after my birth) and despite that, my beloved father tried so hard to prove to my mom that he cared, and she never got that memo. Even after argument after argument, fight after fight, whenever she needed a roof, money, or something like that, he tried to care. And what did she do? Take advantage of him. Out of nothing more than misplaced retribution given that, growing up, she herself was exploited by all the men in her family, which still does not excuse making the last 25 years of my dad's life miserable. He passed away 4 1/2 years ago, and even now, she still will not own up. I've moved on, even after putting up with 21 of those years myself. Keep moving forward. Look in the right places and I'm sure you'll find good people. I know I have.

This really reminds me of going through the ups and downs of being with someone with a severe mental health challenge. It actually makes me emotional thinking of my own personal experience. One moment you're on top of the world and the next they're so down the dark hole of their sadness that they don't even see you, or they don't realize that they say something hurtful until the next day when their head is clear, or them shutting you out because they don't want you to see them broken. It's like two different people demanding control of one mind. You see the pain it causes them, but it takes a toll on you too. It's an uphill battle and it's unpredictable but one thing is known--you love each other for better or worse and giving up isn't an option. Knowing that there is light at the end of the tunnel. That feeling of fighting all their demons alongside them. The feeling of knowing you did the right thing sticking by their side and not giving up when they recover and life is beautiful again. How we didn't think we could make it through one more day in the darkness but we, and they, overcame it and are stronger for it.

2 weeks ago, I split from my boyfriend of 2 years because he "didn't know what he wanted anymore". This song represents our situation so well right now. He was the one that broke it off and broke my heart - as well as making me lose my home and therefore my job all at the same time. But yet he is the one acting bitter and toxic and won't even reply to me when I say something to him in person (won't make eye contact, shrugs it off, 'dunno' response) as he helped me move my stuff out. He's being so cold. He's taken me through an emotional roller-coaster saying he still loves and cares for me when he was breaking up, but then has put me through hell since. I believe he's struggling with his mental health, and I've tried for months to reach out to him but he just shuts himself off from the world and refuses to talk or confide in me despite him being able to do it for the whole relationship prior to this. For his sake, I want him to open up, to talk to anyone about his issues and get himself healthy once again. He's trying so hard to be a stranger and that's so hard when they're the person that you love.

Any other young people (teens) who love Halsey and can’t afford to go to her concerts because you don’t have the resources ($ transportation etc) to go to one of her concerts? Because that’s me right now.... I love her music and she’s a an absolute legend! I just can’t afford to go to one of her concerts even though one of her shows is going really close to where I live.... just kinda makes me sad. One day I’m hoping I’ll get to attend one of her concerts.

Legit every song touches you. I can relate to this people can be mean to those they love and closed off they are acting out in their inner pain and insecurity, but the reality is their partner loves them so much and they are there for them to help them heal their wounds its safe to love the one who loves you. But instead they choose to screw up time and time again and drag their partner down with them until they are both drowning.

as an army and somewhat of a fan of halsey, i have to admit she's really grown. before i always skipped her songs because they were just about breakups and stuff, but now shes really making meaningful music and im proud to say that im glad she was chosen for BWL, i cant think of anyone who could have done it better❤

To be honest, I didn't use to pay attention to her songs either, and I feel so guilty now. Her songs weren't always about breakups but you're right she's really grown. She had some really good songs in the past too, only I didn't pay attention to them and I don't even know why, I guess I never gave her a chance. But I am so tankful for her collaboration with bts, I got to discover her masterpieces, needles to say she's incredible and always has a touching message to deliver. I fell in love with her art. We purple you Halsey <3 and of course we shouldn't forget Marshmello too. Thank you for this heartwarming song !

1. We, as army, don't attack Halsey (as far as I know). We support her as an artist. Yes we're glad she's close friends with bts, but we acknowledge her for who she is: an aspiring singer.
2. Please stop spreading dating rumors (that are completely false on top of everything). We're not against her dating anyone from bts (I mean hell we'll the first to be utterly pleased), but she isn't and it's not really our business. See the woman for her talent not for who she's dating.
3. It's Kim Taehyung not "KIM TAEHUNG".
4. I can imagine that there may have been some armys that were jealous of Halsey's close relationship with the boys, and may have hated on her because of that, and I'd like to sincerely apologize on their behalf, their actions are of course unacceptable (but I highly doubt that that really happened).
5. I've never dated in order to break up lmao and I can only dream about marrying bts
But this isn't what all of this is about. Halsey just released a beautiful song and we're praising her for her hard work. #BeKind and have a nice day <3

This song is exactly how I feel. My fiance was in the Marine Corp 6 years. He was in war... He is struggling with PTSD, depression, anxiety, alcohol addiction, and suicidal thoughts..... This song made me cry reading the lyrics =( It's not his fault that he is broken.. T__T He refuses to seek help or get therapy. I just want him to get better. I don't want him to kill himself... I love him so much.. I just want to him get better. I don't what else to do...

Im really sorry to hear that. Does anyone else know about this? If yes then maybe they can talk to him about it. No matter how many times he might tell you that he doesn't need help, he won't get better unless someone helps him. Maybe try to sit down and talk to him more about it and suggest gently the idea of recovery by telling him to talk to somebody.

I know this would be an invasive comment but hopefully you can help him get into a trauma body based therpay such as EDMR or somatic expirencing to help him. Trauma stays in the body and he needs that kind of therpay. I know someone who has been doing somatic because of suicidal thoughts and it’s been helping them get rid of it and lessen the intensity in the body.
