In a river like you
Going down
Going down
Going down going down
In a river like you
Going down going down
But I know it from the
Motions that I would
Fall for you
I remember when the
Sky was so dark
So dark for you
I knew it
Falling down falling down
In a big heart like you
Falling down
Falling down
Round and round round and round
In a whirlwind like you
Round and round
Round and round
But I knew it from
The start that I would fall
For you
I remember when the time
Were so dark
So dark for you
I knew it
But I knew it from the
Motions that I would
Fall for you
I remember when de sky
Was so dark for you
I knew it
For life I will fight
For love
I'm swimming in a river
Like you I'm swimming
In a river like you
In a river like you
The lyrics to Marta Sánchez's song 'Falling Down' depict the intense feeling of falling in love with someone, and the vulnerability that comes with it. The repetition of the phrases "going down" and "falling down" illustrate the all-consuming nature of love, as the singer feels like they are tumbling headfirst into their emotions. The comparison of this feeling to being in a river and a whirlwind suggest that the intensity cannot be controlled, and the singer is at the mercy of their emotions.
The verse "But I know it from the motions that I would fall for you" shows that the singer was aware of their attraction to the other person early on, even before they fully understood the depth of their feelings. The line "For life I will fight for love" suggests a willingness to commit to this love, despite the challenges that may come their way. The repetition of the phrase "in a river like you" at the end of the song brings a sense of unity between the singer and their love interest, as they are both navigating the same tricky waters together.
Overall, the lyrics to 'Falling Down' convey the overwhelming feeling of falling in love, and the willingness to dive headfirst into the intensity of these emotions.
