He was named the DJ Mag top DJ worldwide for 2016 and 2017. He has also had several high-profile artists' residencies, including at Hï Ibiza and OMNIA Nightclub.

In 2012, Garritsen signed a professional contract with Spinnin' Records until terminating his contract in 2015 and cutting ties with his management, MusicalAllStars on August 25, 2015. In a subsequent lawsuit against the record company, Garritsen won back his rights to his songs released under the label between 2012 and 2015, winning his case in a 2017 court ruling. Earlier in 2016, Martijn created his label imprint 'STMPD RCRDS', which was a tribute to his father's role in the stamp business.

On July 26, 2016, Garritsen signed a 'worldwide' contract with Sony Music International. Explaining that, "their forward thinking approach to streaming and incredible roster of talented artists combined with their passion and understanding for my vision of the future of my music made this a no brainer."

People in the comment section don't seem to understand the meaning of this video.
The video is not telling you to quit your job and do whatever you want. This video is about freedom, and when can get it even when we have a job, a family, etc. It's just that we have to find those moments, to enjoy ourselves and learn the good things of life.

Of course, having an stressful job where you get yelled and mistreated is not good, so quiting is the best option, but that doesn't mean you can't get another job where you're actually happy and you can enjoy while making money. For example, a doctor can be happy in his job, same goes with an artist, etc. So I'm sure that those "expensive" activities are possible even if you quit the shitty job because you can always get a better one c:

And I said "expensive" because going to the beach or to the mountain, and even walking is not expensive, actually, it's free (depending on where you live, of course). And we can always find activities that are free, such as singning, drawing, running, writing, taking photos... Freedom is not only being outside smelling fresh air, freedom is a feeling, a reality, and everybody has their own way to get it.

I cried while I was watching this. I have been feeling trapped by my job and where I am in life, and had the absolute worst past few weeks at work, boss yelling, crashed the car i had been saving months for- the whole shitty ass nine yards. How is it that I've heard this song so many times on the radio and I didn't know this was a Martin Garrix song?? Such a good song and I always knew it was Usher singing but they never mentioned Martin Garrix so I had no clue this was one of his songs.
