In the mid 90's Martin got in contact with the belief of Rastafar thereon he adapted the cult of reggae singing as well. Now with his new belief he was seeking his past through the nature, with guitar in his case and his new religion he created his first songs.
The Rebel - (*Wake up* from the album- Statements outa Babylon“), feature-tracks („Bloodhunter“ feat. Mellow Mark from his album „Sturm“, „Rainy Days“ with Gentleman, „Wunderlampe“ (Wonderlamp) with Silly Walks Movement) are some of his first tracks.
Although Martin Jondo seems like someone who just came out of the blue, but before his brakethough with his song Rainbow Warrior - he did a lot of background music with a lot of people. Due to his short present on these songs, people couldn't really get a hold of who it was. But he as been working for a long time wiht a lot of well known artist.
He was also two year on tour with Gentelman. So the short chubby guy you might have seen on Gentelmans tour videos on stage -. jup that’s Jondo alright.
(Silly Walks Movement) Soundsystems (Pow_Pow_Movement, (Phlatline Sound), (Redemption Sound)

Believe it or not, but it wasn't before his tour with Gentelman on the year 2002 that he was accepted as a professional artist. Before that Jondo, this charismatic person, had been a bit shy guy and didn't take the shot he deserved. But on his own tour " Journey To Jah" Jondo totaly let lose and showed the world his true self. And with the song "Rainbow Warrior" he killed the crowed with passion and made them his for all eternity.
List of prizes he has conquered:
Best of Dancehall Reggae Dub Ska (2003).
Newcomer of the year (2004).
He was signed to do the music for the movie Golden days by the producer Peter Thorwarths.

Ain't it hard to see the children
and to see them having no place to go, Lord yeah
ain't it hard to reveal them
that it's so, so hard – oh – it's so, so hard to find a place where there's love?
The tide has been low and the tide has been high
still I see teardrops but why won't them dry?
the devil's hate he broke the wings of their life
Oh please all of your prophets come and teach all your sheep
the shepherd never said fight until one man a bleed
and the words of the wise they live in charity
teach the blind and the deaf 'til them hear and them see
Didn't you know, what goes up friend one day it comes down
didn't you know, what goes round sure one day it comes round
didn't you know, what you bury one day it will grow?
Lord, I see the trouble come
[Chorus]
And I'm tired of walking the same circle I've been toiling day and night in my life
and I'm of plying the phoney game of saying every little thing will gonna be alright
and I'm tired of seeing the people acting like they are the great hero
and I'm bored of people fighting and screaming like sandpit fools
oh, oh my Lord
So are the children we love the children we hate
the stone age's back, heh friend, rumours say it didn't fade
so all the victims we buried and all the tortured souls
they became zombie angels danger now them coming out
Dread, dread, dread, dread, dread became this time
and the wild, wild west no it will enter our lines
lord so mad, mad, mad most of the people got blind
now they spread, spread, spread plenty, plenty more lies
But the deaf and blind won't hear, won't see
so I and I shedding tear, tear by tear when I say
[Chorus]
(Children, children) think about the afterlife
(children, children) only some of you survive
(children, children) I wish you the best
(children, children) though your load is the heaviest
(Children, children) jump an run and save your life
(children, children) Babylon can't send no light
(children, children) cool down, meditate
(children, children) 'cause Jah love is always there
(children, children...)
The Martin Jondo's song "Children" is a powerful and emotional plea for compassion and kindness towards the most vulnerable members of society: children. In the chorus, the singer expresses his sorrow for seeing children with no place to go and no love to receive. The imagery of teardrops and broken wings portrays the deep sadness and trauma that these children endure.
As the song progresses, Jondo calls for spiritual leaders to teach love and compassion to their followers. He denounces violence and advocates for charity and kindness. The lyrics warn of the consequences of hatred and ignorance that can lead to cycles of violence and suffering, using the metaphor of what goes around comes around.
Jondo finishes the song with a message of hope, reminding listeners that even though life can be tough, love will always be there. He tells the children to jump and run for their lives and encourages them to meditate on Jah's love, which will always be with them.
Overall, "Children" is a moving and powerful song with a message that is still relevant today. It highlights the importance of showing compassion and love to the most vulnerable members of society.
