From 1952 to 1962 she sang mostly Irish and Scottish songs. Her husband of 15 months died in 1962 and she took holy orders and served as a Nun for 12 years in Stanbrook Abbey, England. She left in 1974 and resumed her singing career, retiring in 1994. She currently lives in England.
