There’s a story that this execution takes inspiration of.
The story goes that a boy goes out into the woods, despite his mother’s warnings and runs into 3 tigers. The tigers say that there is nothing he can do, and that they’ll eat him up. Thinking quick, the boy tells them that maybe instead of his life, the tigers would take some of his things instead.
The tigers agreed, but only to his stuff, and will still eat him afterwards.
The boy gives them his shoes, shirt and hat, which the tigers put on. The boy exclaims how amazing they look in them and try to stroke their vanity.
With them agreeing, he tell one that he looks best of them all, to which the others proclaim elsewise. They argue and start chasing each other around a tree until they run so fast, they melt away into butter, leaving only the boy’s clothes and circular pool of tiger butter.
The boy then ran home to get a jar, and returned to collect the butter, he then went back home and gave the butter to his mother, which she ysed to make pancakes with.
Before digging in, the boy says in a triumphant manner “oh my, look at you, so small and soft, i could just eat you up!”
Which is what one of the tigers had said to him when they encountered him.
Bare in mind, my brother told me that story, and he has a habit of extending or changing a story to his fit, so some parts may be off.
But he did tell me the melting into butter and the kid eating pancakes made out of them was true.
BTW, this is an eastern story, so it would explain a lot.
Mister Bubbles
The disturbing thing about this death is that it can technically happen. Intense pressure can and would crush the human body into paste, although you'd die of suffocation long before than since your lungs would collapse.
And the end result would be more like chunky salsa than butter. Still a pretty horrible way to die.

I like Mondo as a character because he was more complex than just being a delinquent. He had a lot of weakness and guilt in his heart. Killing Chihiro for having the courage to do what he couldn't do was dead wrong, no doubt. To me, he was not only jealous of Chihiro inner strength, but the way he lashed out tells me he felt Chihiro was more of a man than him in every sense of the word. Even so, he deeply regretted what he did and that made me more of a fan of him than ever, he was truly human. I was sad to see him executed and Ishimaru's grief broke me down.
