The Reaper battle on Rannoch felt like a real final boss, as opposed to what we had at the real ending. The whole atmosphere afterwards, when talking with Tali about her new homeworld, it feels like we reached the end of a story.

I liked the ending of the game 🤷‍♂

felt like a reality check, the whole game you are effortlessly uniting the entire galaxy and it makes you feel like you're gonna defeat the reapers just by simply trowing enough bullets at them, but once you reach the catalyst it's like "nuh uh, you thought this is gonna be some death star laser that will kill all reapers without any negative side effects? Think again. You can surrender or do those 3 things depending on what your mentality thinks is right. It's time to choose ~~Mr. Freeman~~ I mean Shepard.

Felt like a classic Issac Assimov twist ending. And I am convinced people solely dislike the ending because it wasn't a sappy happy ending with Shepard riding off into the sunset. (though pre extended cut ending - the complaints are valid, but with extended cut I still don't know why people are gaslighting themselves that it's anywhere close to bad)

@DcA It wasn't really a conversation tbh. The catalyst has absolutely no effect on the ending or the overall story of mass effect all it did was give you the possible directions and you were able to refuse those directions if you so chose...

It's a fucking computer that was made a billion years ago and was programmed to do 1 specific thing. You find the computer and it lets you do anything that the software allows it to do. Or refuse to use the computer and die trying to fight a LITERALLY INVINCIBLE AND INFINITE army of computers.

not to say the ending is perfect. I fully understand the anger towards the writers. They wrote a shitty dumb, anticlimactic and disappointing ending in the entire history of media and then 6 months later they only added stuff to that ending to alleviate the negatives about it. And for someone who only experienced the fixed ending on the first time, I have no problems with the ending as a result. The fixed ending is fine. Though I imagine for someone who experienced the original ending first, the fixed ending is probably too little too late for them. They were already sour for 6 months about specifically that ending, so getting a couple new cutscenes to fix some plot holes and a slideshow giving some closure may not be enough. Especially when 80% of the ending is still identical to the old ending.

ME1 and ME2 were composed by Jack Wall AND Sam Hulick, and ME3 was composed by Clint Mansell, Sam Hulick, Christopher Lennertz, Cris Velasco and Sasch Dickyikan. Clint Mansell only composed Leaving Earth as well, that was all he contributed to the entire soundtrack.

My idea for an ending. The Crucible it is discovered to be an anti-energy generator, when activated it charges up a pulse and sends it through the relay destroying any energy it comes into contact, the ending will depend on your war assets, bare minimum will kill the reapers but also make the reapers explode like massive element zero based nukes, decimating the planets the reapers are on, it will also destroy the mass relays. Though everyone dies, the galaxy will have a chance to start again.

The better your assets and the more reaper tech you collect in the game allows you to fine tune the Crucible so it will only target reaper tech in a way that it wont make the relays explode and make it so that the reapers themselves dont explode. I would also throw in the option to say "fuck the crucible we do it ourselves" allowing you the option to take your chances and fight the reapers without the crucible. Of course your ending for that will be based on your war assets to.

The Mass Effect Relays are gone, sure, but they still have their FTL drives. They can also build more Relays (but that might take a while lol) What happened to the Geth/Quarians is up to the player. One lives, one dies/both make nice. The Krogan situation is implied to have been one of peace if you have both Wrex and Eve. With whatshisface (forgot his name) it will most likely be one of revenge as I believe he stated.

It's absolutely the greatest game I've ever played. The pros definitely outweigh the cons. But you're right. It probably would have been 10x better if Microsoft did it like the original Mass Effect.

There's also the Derelict Reaper in 2 and the Tuchanka and Earth ones (sort of). Still, I agree. Notice how we never battle any of the Sovereign class reapers? Not even Harbinger. The Reaper enemies lacked variety IMO. I at least wanted to fight some of those Oculus things rather than just husks all the time.

Yes, when it was in the Serpent Nebula/Widow System it was a atmosphere around Citadel but when it moved to Earth it was in the middle of empty space

Marauder Shields stopped me the first time I met. Don't ask how, but little did I know that the game over screen he gave to me was actually the best ending of the game. Being young, stubborn, and foolish, I tried again, and this time Mr. Shields just stood there, stared at me, did nothing. I shot him, and he laughed as the game engine made him lie down for me. It was a mocking electronic laughter, a final warning that I was about to enter the maw of painful disappointment and bad writing.

The reason why the Citadel moved to Earth was because TIM went to warn the Reapers before you began the assault on the Reaper base.Its assumed he was on the Citadel when they moved it...Otherwise Its space magic.

I can't answer 1 or 2, but if the citadel opens up Hackett would assume that Shepard made it aboard. The Prothean VI specifically says that the Illusive Man warned the Reapers and went aboard the Citadel before they moved it to Earth. If you pay attention to the conversation between Shepard and Anderson, Anderson mentions that he came up elseware and that the path kept changing behind him. Harbinger did just murder the hell out of everyone...

I can answer some of those. 4. He probably went there after fleeing Cronos Station and telling the Reapers about the Catalyst. 5. The entire Citadel was shifting and changing, so the path he took was probably closed off by the time Shepard got there. Anderson wasn't wounded like Shepard so he was able to get to there faster. 7. The Reaper Destroyer. Y'know, the one that made the time spent gathering ground forces meaningless by obliterating them no matter how strong your forces were?

I think not only the lack of logic in those events but also the fact Shepard was walking in space on the Crucible without any helmet would have hinted that he was dreaming, at least.

The main point of anger of most fans (myself include) is the lack of closure. Alot of fans put much time into all three games, and have made some tough - and perhaps even painful- decisions. What happened to the Geth/Quarians? Did the Krogan try to be peaceful, or did they go back to their old ways? The fact that those questions are never answered is extremely frustrating. And don't even get me started on how Tali is stuck on some random planet! >:(

I'd think the real question is why the Catalyst helped Shepard? Shepard fainted after trying to reach for the console when Hackett radioed her that nothing happened and would probably died from her wound or woke up too late to do anything (I said this because there's a time limit to choose your choice or mission failure). Why lifted her up and so kindly explained her options out. Indoctrination or dream theory seem likely. *waits for Team's explanatory cuts*

I can't find anything really bad with the actual ending to be honest. It's fine. Sure, it'd be nice to have a bit more variety or to have Joker's escape explained....but as a whole, it was fine.

5) But anderson said that he appeared somewhere completely different to where shepard was 7) Several soveriegn class reapers including harbinger broke off to go to earth to protect the beam, but only harbinger shows up. Also harbinger just leaves after he kills most of hammer. Why would he do that? the only weak spot for the reapers and harbinger just leaves with no one guarding the beam

ok i can get a few of these 4) the VI told you he fled to the citadel and informed the reapers of your plan. 6) all the energy generated by a mass relay was altered and expeled to the other mass relays, the ammount of force it took only shattered the husk of the relay therefore there was no mass relay explosion which could destroy a solar system, once the energy was expelled the signal was used in a shockwave for that system.

I heard, it never moved when Shep was on though, I just watched it again now. I'm not denying they didn't move for him, just not Shep (which looked oneway) 7. My idea to destroy the backbone of the reaper fleet, although you may have to be a bit of a renegade to do it, is to blow up the Earth Mass Relay, destroying the Reapers and earth in the process.
