Matt Lyrics

Gets behind me and keeps giving me that shove again
Putting rain in my eyes
Tears in my dreams
And rocks in my heart
It's that sly old sun of a gun again
But I still have that rain
Still have those tears
And those rocks in my heart
S'pose I didn't stay
Ran away
Wouldn't play
The devil
What a potion he would brew?
He'd follow me around
Build me up
Tear me down
Till I'd be so bewildered
I wouldn't know what to do
Might as well give up that fight again
I know darn well he'll convince me that he's right again
When he sings that sorry song I'm just gonna tag along
With that ole devil called love
He'd follow me around
Build me up
Tear me down
With that ole devil called love
The lyrics of Matt's song "Called" talks about the recurring cycle of a person's emotions when it comes to love. The metaphorical "devil called love" represents the feeling of being pushed and pulled by love. The lyrics can be interpreted as a person who is constantly at the mercy of their emotions, because love leaves them in a state of confusion, with tears and rocks in their heart.
In the first verse, the lyrics describe the experience of feeling emotional pain as a result of love. The devil's shove represents this emotional pain pushing the person forward. The rain in their eyes and tears in their dreams reflects the idea that the pain of love is inescapable and follows them even to their subconscious. The rocks in their heart symbolizethe heavy burden, the emotional baggage of past relationships or the weight of an unreciprocated love that they carry, which makes it very challenging for the person to get past their pain.
The second verse expresses the temptation of giving in to the devil's plans, the singer listens to the devil taunting them that they are the lucky one yet they are still unable to escape the pain. In the third verse, the singer contemplates running away to escape these emotions, which may lead to the devil brewing a potion and making it harder to resist the temptation of getting back into love.
In conclusion, the lyrics of Matt's song "Called" presents a situation of struggling with love, where it seems like an endless cycle that drains and tears the person down.

Idk who need to hear this but
Pain comes and goes.
Life is here and gone you don’t get another shot at life when you end it.
The pain might end for you but you pass it to others.
You are strong enough.
You are good enough.
You are not alone.
People love you.
Don’t do it.
Please.

Hey Matt i doubt youll ever read this but 3 years ago you saved my life. I was sitting in my dodge pickup with a loaded 9mm lookin at the barrel. My mother was going through stage 4 luekmia and I was about to give it all up. I received a call i was having a little girl. She's now 3 and because of you i have took up country singin and playin guitar. Mama was so happy and i havent seen a smile that big in many years. For the first time she got out of that bed and walked. She did not walk for many months, because of that little girl she gained strength. Sadly mamma lost her battle but your song reminds me every day to keep fighting. Remmeber the name cause one day we will meet and i hope i can be on stage together. JW Harris sir. God bless and much obliged.
