Overall Meaning

One of the main reasons why nobody stood up that time was because of job security. It's not easy finding a new job. And if ever they did, they will be ignored because Lea was Ryan's favorite. He only listens to her. Only Naya had the guts to stand up and speak on behalf of everybody else because come on, that's Naya's character! Upfront and straightforward! One of the many reasons why I like her.

The thing is she is super talented, I don't like bullies but I love Lea Michelle's voice in theater. Naya rivera allahi yarhamha (God resybher soul) also has such a unique voice and in that time I remember media said she was hard to work with, her book revealed some things. All the cast mates did say they loved Naya.
I'm kind of sad that they weren't as close as I thought they were. I loved glee.

Without Lea the whole of the cast and crew of Glee would have been out of work for seasons 5 & 6 because if she had wanted it Glee would have ended when Cory died - it was only because Lea wanted to carry on that the producers kept the show going. So maybe some respect for that ?? And why do you think the producers, and so many other people, really like Lea Michele ?? It must be a real puzzle for you...

Nah, she was bad on "Spring Awakening" and even as a childhood. But she is sweet to people she thinks are up to her level so Ryan only knows her as being sweet. Sarah Michelle Gellar went through the same thing on "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," thinking because she was the star of a hit show, she could be rude to everyone -- but of course, was always charming and lovely to the person who created the hit show.

I read that Barbra Streisand’s relative was an extra on the show and Lea treated her sub-human UNTIL she found out WHO the extra was related to. It got back to Mrs. Streisand-Brolin and Lea’s career doors started closing one-by-one. Hollywood has a way of handling business behind the scenes. Still, it’s horrible that Lea felt the need to treat people that way at all, regardless of who they are/know.

Tbh, personally I think workplace bullying is more common than we think. Because I've had a number of jobs where there were always the brown nosers, the instigators, etc. There is a lot of cronyism among the administrative members. No one wants to admit it. And there are many people in power that are very corrupt because it's about "the business," not people. It's not just in Hollywood. I've worked in small town daycare center & libraries, it's all based on a hierarchal system. No one looks out for the "little guy." From my own experience, it would have been a bad idea to go to the executives to complain about the bullying because they look out for their own self-interests. If they believed Lea Michele was the star of the show and she is the reason the show is popular, then they would have fired the person complaining about her. These execs are interested in making money, not creating healthy work environments.

It’s ironic you said this. Back in the day, I would always say that Santana and Racheal mirrored me and my old manager. She harassed and bullied me and multiple others. I spoke up and got fired out of retaliation. Then others quit/ got fired. The only reason that manager got fired was cause she called a customer white trash. Since our old work place was in a small town, I don’t speak up cause then I’d get back lash. Soon as I move I’m gonna say my piece to everyone that enabled her and her. And you know people are people. People have shitty days and different ways of communicating to others and some people are more sensitive than others etc. I bet most of us have behaved badly sometimes. The sad fact is that if you are having a shitty day, had too little sleep and have other worries then it might take a lot of effort to be nice to others and usually it is those who are less powerful that are the victims. I am not saying it is ok to behave badly or to be a bully, but often there are other reasons for that kind of behavior. The best thing what people could do to prevent bullying is to create an environment where it is easy to deal with communication problems and/or stress can be dealt with and talk through quickly and things don't fester.

This one of those shows that will never be brought back for a reboot or a reunion. The entire legacy of this show has been tarnished. They kept pushing this focus on the will they won't they drama with Finn and Rachel, that got cut when Cory tragically passed and the whole narrative of the show went off the rails. And now Lea has been proven to be so intolerable.

There's an interview when she was a young talking about how she'd fall asleep in class and didn't understand why teachers would get mad at her because "she was tired". She was raised like this. I blame her parents.

As someone who worked in the theatre as a wig and makeup artist; I had to leave the industry bc of actors like this. It’s literally taught to us in university that we are supposed to appease the actor at all costs bc they’re “irreplaceable” this whole taught-attitude is what creates this polarity between actors and technicians and amongst actors themselves. If people are told to bully and allowed to do so, they will (not all people but…).

I’ve done theatre most of my life, Theatre actors are different than TV/Film because the ego is much bigger. When you have a big ego, no one can touch you which means attitudes like her.

At the time of Lea and Naya's big fight that almost got Naya fired, majority of fans thought Naya was the blame. After Cory Monteith died, Lea was viewed as a fragile, innocent victim. And Naya was inflicting domestic violence and having anger issues. However, WE WERE ALL WRONG. We should have listened to Naya!

The fact she was a young person at the time means she most probably has grown and matured and regrets making people feel the way they did and has learnt from her past behaviour and everyone deserves a second chance and if they fail at that then they won’t ever change but I’m sure she probably believed her own hype and felt like she was better than everyone coz that’s how she was made to feel like from her bosses and sure she is not that same person anymore and

Trust me they were friends in real life and for sure she was on Naya's side. She just couldn't say it like this but for sure she spoke with Naya when it happened, she knew she was right and told her but of course when you are in these situations what can you do? You can ruin your carrer and Naya was over with it.
I think she did the right choice to saying it now (and come on do you think people didn't know that half of the Glee cast was on Naya's side..) I don't blame her, now we know she kinda hated Lea too but it wasn't a surprise for me.

I think it's unfair to say there was no Glee among the cast because of what has been said of Lea. I am sure if we asked anyone of the actors if doing this show was a wonderful, positive experience they'd say yes. I am late to the rumor mill on this one, so I am shocked to hear this about Lea, yet I find it totally believable. I think of how big her head must have been, being the lead, constant comparison to Barbara Streistand...looks, voice and triple threat talent. It is a shame when everyone was young, scared and having their first major break on a hit show. I hope that the growth of Lea will make a statement and acknowledge that immaturity at the time.

This is leas fault she was the bully not only on glee but she’s been called out by other costars. Everyone saying it’s Ryan’s fault is kinda taking the blame away from lea who actually did the bullying and putting it on other people. Of course Ryan should have stopped it but why would he she is his golden child. Also naya got dragged through the mud when she called out lea that’s why nobody else spoke up cause they knew Ryan would take leas word over everyone else.

I feel like this is being dramatized. Lea was often mean and controlling, but that doesn’t mean the entire cast hated each other. Most of them got along very well, and they moved past drama fairly quickly because they had a family dynamic. Naya didn’t even say she hated Lea; she even said she’d work with her again & wished her well. My point is, what Lea did was inexcusable and she should be held accountable, but 1. we should move on and 2. it’s not true that it was always a toxic environment.

Amber came out last June and said that she was told by producers that her and other women of colour were replaceable/expendable. Even mentioned that RIB apologised privately to her. Dianna in 2016 alluded to how the filming schedule would be draining as well as learning to be the bigger Person when dealing with ‘childish behaviour’ from a co-star.
Even Ryan Murphy shared his regrets and wished he approached things differently in terms off the set environment.Even mentioned the amount of in-fighting between costars.

They used to have parties were Lea was in, you can see them having fun on set including Lea, Naya and Lea used to have a good friendship and apparently they were somehow in good therms considering Naya commented on Lea's pregnancy post and Lea liked Naya's tweet on the 10th anniversary of Glee.

All the Glee stars were young when they rose to fame and stories abound about many of them that were not flattering. Amber said that many of the black actors felt bullied or dismissed by the white women on set. She was clear to expand the net beyond Lea. I appreciate that Lea has owned up to it and is working on being better. She was young and has probably grown a lot in the 9 years since the show ended. Have the other actresses done the same?

Honestly, the show went down hill the moment Cory died. And i feel like it was already getting a bit meh around the time "Rachel" was auditioning for funny girl. I stopped watching the show a few episodes after "the quarterback" aired. I feel like they should have not continued the show when they graduated. And if it did go on, they should have just stayed with the highschoolers and Mr. Shu.

This was totally on Ryan Murphy. When they developed the show they went into it letting Lea believe she was the star and if you watched the show and followed the story line that’s the way the script of the show went also. Naya Spoke up about it and was fired so everyone else kept quiet. They brought Naya back because fans started boycotting the show. It turns out that the fans were more interested in the Britney/Santana storyline and no one really cared about The Lea/Rachel storyline. Ryan Murphy may have created a monster with allowing Lea to act that way but at the end of the day he was a smart businessman so he brought Naya back for the sake of the show.

I was a huge fan of Glee back in the day. I tried my best to like Lea Michele and dismiss the rumors a against her and believe her mean nature was just her acting role as Rachel. Does anyone think that the people who currently complain about her are trying to cling to some sort of fame? The actors that are complaining are the dancing with the stars types that weren't able to find a career after they were secondary characters on glee. Nya also wasn't the only one dropped to a recurring role on glee. After the third season half the cast was trimmed down they kept the leads and and added a whole new crew of people and said to the secondary characters were not going to forget about you but we will bring you back as needed and I think nya was quickly brought back to almost full time when all was said and done. Lea clearly isn't 100% innocent but the stories from back in the day say they were both divas. I just see pics of lea online with Jonathan Groff and Darren Chris who is the nicest person around still hanging out Becca Tobin who was the definition of a side character was one of her bridesmaids. Mathew Morrison and her dated Cory Monteith was going to be her husband. It seems like this is a mix of a little truth and a whole lot of people standing behind a woman who unfortunately passed away but was a very flawed person herself who caused a whole lot of drama but now that she's gone people can't talk about it because it's bad to speak illwill of the dead. I think there was a clear line drawn on that show and the secondary characters were on one side and the leads and the people that made it to the end of the show are on the other and the people that didn't become stars from it are just bitter

I agree. I am not saying that Lea wasn't a bully. She said that she privately reached out to people that hurt her. Amber Riley confirmed that Lea reached out to her. She apologized publicly and we are no one to call it genuine or fake. Whatever happened was really long time ago. She has had a really tough year with tough pregnancy. I don't know who hyped her up but she truly is talented and her voice is amazing. She is still friends with few people from the show. I think Heather needs to let this go. Also Lea never locked herself in her trailer. She took work very seriously to the point where she'd lecture other people for not being ready to work, etc. It's not her job as an actress to boss people around. She just was condescending to others and treated them like they were inferior to her. Would just point out how ugly people were or what losers extras were. She's felt, even in her youth, that she was a special talent and almost everyone was beneath her, not even worth acknowledging.

I do honestly wish that Lea was sorted out at the time, and she could've learned her lesson at the time.

However one thing I wanna say (And pls dont come out me) But i do wish that people would cut the cycle of bullying, i;ve seen so many people say mean and threatening things to her all over social media and videos of people slamming her. And listen two wrongs don't make a right.

@Amber Jarrell main doesn't equal entertaining. Yeah, season one I thought her being narcissistic was funny because it was dramatic but it got old quick. if we go back in time and see how close the cast was I mean lea lived with Dianna at some point we can see where it all went wrong. in my opinion I place the blame on Ryan Murphy, lea seemed like a sweet person in behind the scene clips and videos we see every once in a while at random times. I might get dragged for this but Ryan hyped her up to a point when she was considered a favorite and she acted out on it thus causing the bullying and the whole situation. I don't want to hate on Lea, i don't like doing that, but many people said that she was hard to work with and that she was a bully (more Naya Rivera said it but as you can see she wasn't the only one).
If many people said it that means that it's true, even the ones who don't have a shady past in the Glee cast like Darren, jenna, kevin or Heather in this case. That makes me think that is real, because it can't be possible that everyone is lying and Lea is the only angel.

I will admit that Lea Michele is talented but during season 5 after the Finn tribute episode the season did focus on Rachel and yet newcomers Melissa Benoist, Jacob Artist, Alex Newell and Becca Tobin were the few that were recurring cast members in season 4 and played big role in that season but then got promoted to series regulars on season 5 but didn't show up after half way through which is a shame as it was supposed to be about Glee Club as well. Glee should've been about the students at school and have the odd old student come back. Also maybe in the final season we saw what old characters were doing. But instead it was about Rachel getting her Broadway life but then not wanting it as she found it boring. From the very beginning Rachel had her heart set on Broadway and that was it nothing more.
With all the reports about Lea's bullying I realize she wasn't being Rachel but herself. And even in her statement she used her unborn child as a defence which is wrong. I do hope she's learned a valuable lesson.

Heather can barely string a coherent sentence together - is she half-asleep ? - When asked if she can give a single specific example of Lea's supposed bad behaviour she can't or won't and the pathetic interviewer lets her get away with it - this is the definition of a smear.
