Prosser is primarily influenced by the natural soundscapes of rural quietude as well as the pervasive din of urban epicenters, combining this with an overt adherence to aspects of sacred minimalism.

"From the Morning To The Night" was the first public release of Prosser's work. A double-album collection of singular works, it is meant to serve as prologue for a series of serious symphonic works.

I had been making music for years before I actually started learning any kind of theory and once I did I realized that a good like, 75% of the songs I had written were in E Major. E Major is the undisputed GOAT imo

I think it depends of you write on a guitar or a keyboard. On a guitar, you are more likely Tom gravitate to the open chords (all your choices except c#minor). Because I learned the guitar first, I would gravitate to G C and D. Even when I learnt the piano, sticking with the white keys goes back to the same thing. Also, it depends if you sing too. Some keys are better than others for you to be able to sing. It's also very subjective. Something should also be said for minor keys like A minor and G minor.

love this video. my hot take is that horoscopes for music degrees most of the time. buuuut in the range of most songs you have darker and lighter depending on key, but i think that has to do with where on low - high notes you're playing for dark/light.

I never understood these types of questions. Like my friend would make a melody then take the notes and move them all up or down some semitones and be like, "this feels more bright/dark" and it would always be "bright" if he moved it sharper and 'dark' if he moved it flater...

Unless you got perfect pitch or directly compare the keys to each other. They'll all sound the same. It's more the instruments playing the keys that make the difference.

@Petonia another point is that most musicians play different keys in different ways. Generally speaking, keys, horns and flutes have to memorize and perform different permutations of fingerings for scales, unlike stringed instruments, who can generally stretch the same pattern across the neck.

Just making this up, we could say that on the saxophone fingerings for A major may make it easier to trill and express the 5th scale degree, and maybe B major is particularly easy to arpeggiate. Personally as a piano player E major is one of my favorites, I think chord inversions with it are very fluid. I also really like the 2nd inversions of its minor scales (f#, g#, c#). Bb major feels very different to play, so even though I maintain my style and voicing, I think about the key differently, and invariably employ different phrasing.

You'd be surprised how much different keys sound very different over certain melodies; try transposing a song to other keys, and you'll see that some definitely sound better than others. There's also then the question of what instruments you are using; some keys sound better on certain instruments. For instance, F Major, in general, sounds great on wind instruments (trumpet, flute, etc), and pretty weak on strings (violin, cello, etc). So instrumentation also greatly affects how a key sounds. As far as the emotions. . . it depends on tempo, melody, volume, among others, so I don't like to say that any particular key has a specific emotion, rather they lend themselves to different sounds on different combinations of instruments and voices.

Any key with a route note of D#, E, F or F# is good because the bass hits in the right frequencies. If your bass plays in b or something, it will be too low or too high. This matters most in heavier genres and isn't really important in genres like jazz or pop.

@Alberto ; i would say e Major is cool to Play because of the low e-string but if you add the other chords of the Key (don't know if you say it that way in English) it's much harder to harmonize a g#minor Chord or c#minor as the parallel Key (also don't know if this is the correct term) than playing the chords of c major or d major, but yeah whatever makes you more comfortable you should Play, i guess

Personally I wouldn't say Hey Ya is in C major, I would say its in G mixolydian. It has all the same chords and notes as C major, but its tonic note is G. I'm not entirely certain on that though because it does seem to rest on C during the chorus.
Also, all major keys sounds the same, all minor keys sound the same, all full tone keys sound the same, all blues scales sound the same, and so forth. The defining feature that differentiates them is their tonic placement, but for anything that doesn't have perfect pitch its entirely meaningless because what defines a scale in general is the space between each note of the scale. Any major scale can be used in the exact same way, and if a scale like B major were as common as G major, then it would be considered the, "boring and typical," scale.
The reasons certain scales are used often is due to the instruments they're played on. If G major, C major, and D major didn't have all the open notes of a guitar within their scale, they wouldn't be nearly as commonplace. They're also fairly easy on piano, but if not for other common instruments I think other scales like F major would be more common, but we can see that C# major is another common scale again likely due to how easy it is on the piano.

To be clear this isn't a bad video, its just making a tier list of key signatures is pointless because whether a key is enjoyable or not entirely depends on your instrument of choice.
