In the spring of 2008, Matthew & the Judes released their debut EP “Where On Earth” and promptly sold out of the printed copies. Today the EP is available on several music distribution networks including iTunes, Napster, and Amazon. In his review of “Where On Earth” for absolutepunk.net Greg Robson writes,
“...the album is a towering triumph of the indie pop variety. Album opener “Waves” only has three lines of verses before it segues into a sea of chiming, orchestral beauty. It’s the kind of song to listen to when busting open the doors to greet a warm, summer morning. One can almost visualize the Pixar scene unfolding as the trumpet wails, an acoustic guitar strums and a flourish of melodious grandeur ensues. Truth be told, of all the songs that have come across my desk so far this year, few have an album opener as triumphant or cheery as "Waves."
In early 2009 the group went back into the studio to record material for the upcoming full-length “A Happy Medium” set for release in the summer of this year. The sound is a mixture of traditional rock instrumentation with lush orchestration including horns, strings, and vocal harmonies. Several guest vocalists appear on the album, including Thomas Dutton of Forgive Durden.
In support of the new songs, the band has played several shows and developed a fan base in the State College, Harrisburg, and Philadelphia areas and have shared a stage with several nationally touring artists such as Margot & the Nuclear So and So's, Ace Enders and a Million Different People, and Good Old War.

And it won't be long till I find out that we're not who I think we are And as you turn away I will be One more of your shooting stars
As I'm wrapped up in the middle with you Imortalizing all the things that you do Living in the city of light Off to the garden at night where I can take you there's so much left to show you the world is spinning with all these things I keep in
And it won't be long till I find out that we're not who I think we are And as you turn away I will be One more of your shooting stars
And it won't be long till I find out that we're not who I think we are And as you turn away I will be One more of your shooting stars
The lyrics of Matthew James's song Dreamer are about longing, desire, and disillusionment. The singer imagines a world where they can be a dreamer, spending every day in a beautiful garden with their beloved. They are intoxicated by the beauty of the flowers and want to steal away to a room with their partner. However, there is a sense of unease under the surface, as the singer realizes that they may not really know their partner. They fear that they are not who they seem to be, and that they are just one of many fading shooting stars in their partner's life.
The singer seems to be trying to hold on to the moments of love and beauty in their relationship, even as they are beginning to unravel. They are immortalizing the things their partner does, and living in a city of light. However, the doubt and disillusionment is creeping in. The singer is afraid that their relationship is not based on honesty and trust, and that they may have been misled.
Overall, the lyrics of Dreamer are a bittersweet reflection on the complexities of love and desire. The singer wants to believe in the beauty they see in their relationship, but is becoming increasingly aware of the potential for disappointment and heartbreak.

Once again, I don't know how he does it outside the Holy Spirit moving in such a way, so much to unpack in the gems of JUDE - a very short NT (one chapter) 25 verses. Thank you, Pastor David.

Help me Holy Spirit to be connected to reality as God sees it. Help me be rid of a condemning attitude and tongue, to be respecting of all authorities for You appointed them. Send rain to put out the west coast wildfires, to replenish aquafers, and to refill Lake Powell. California is America's garden; it requires rain to flourish. Protect our nation from harm, pain, and evil. Help us with invasive species threatening our natural ecosystems. Thank you for our dedicated military, the first responders who protect, serve, and care for us. Angels spread your wings to protect health care workers, retail workers, those who produce, deliver, and sell to us the things we need, and even the things we want. Rid our land of the virus. Jesus, thank you for the moment on Calvary. We are forever grateful.

When we connect the trinity of our being to God, we are fulfilled, Ps 23 - we need no more. When we connect ourselves to each other in a godless manner, we are never satisfied, and we only make it worse in our seeking of different partners + different personalities, to match what it is we seek. We trust ourselves + humanity, instead of looking to God who gracefully and mercifully made us all worship and serve Him. Those that wait upon the Lord, do renew their strength, they do soar like eagles, they run, but not tire, they walk, they faint not, teach us, Lord, to seek you, now more than ever.

the final part of this message is a key we often miss - it is ok for us to point the finger, blame, accuse, and also speak not well of what we do not like, but if that is the case, then what difference do we possess to bring about change? IS THIS NOT THE TRUE MISSION FIELD? Are these (difficult cases) not the ones of the HARVEST? We are called then to love and pray and live in a way that these are attracted to good, not evil, and show the compassion and forgiveness of Christ, that some in this group may become saved. For if God could change Saul to Paul, and Constantine, He can do mighty things like move obstacles that seem like mountains. While we occupy, this ought to be our mission.

BINGO - Jude and David rightly say - there are some so deluded, they do not see THEY are OUT of TOUCH with REALITY. To an extent so are we - we see and judge by what we see and hear, but remember the prophet Elijah, show him Lord, show him the many who are also in the fight, that he was unaware of. The battle when one is on the Lord's side is always a good, and sure victory.
