@Fluvienne The Holy Word of God - The Bible:
1 Corinthians 15:1-4
King James Version
"15 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; "

"2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. "

"3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; "

"4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:"

Acts 4:12
"Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved."

Nando Florestan

Ravel's Bolero is a study of orchestral crescendo that the author almost threw away. The self-imposed rule is, no tempo changes, and no development is allowed to the melody or to the harmony (except at the very end). How long can you sustain the interest by only thickening the orchestration? Usually not very long, but here the melody is so interesting, rhythmically speaking, that Ravel gets away with quite a few statements.

The author insisted it should be played slowly, like in this recording. But that's just his opinion.

The famous melody has 2 parts, I will call them "a" and "b". Below is the overall scheme (Wikipedia has another description):

0:20 - 0. Introduction (rhythm only)

0:32 - a - flute
1:27 - a - clarinet
2:22 - b - bassoon
3:17 - b - piccolo clarinet in E flat

4:12 - a - oboe d'amore
5:06 - a - muted trumpet + flute (a pretend solo.)
6:01 - b - tenor sax
6:56 - b - soprano sax

7:49 - a - imitation of an organ (horn, 2 piccolos, celesta) (The organ is a solo instrument that sounds like an ensemble.)
8:43 - a - oboes and clarinets
9:37 - b - trombone (a solo instrument that CAN sound huge by itself)
10:30 - b - woodwind ensemble: tenor sax, clarinets, oboes, flutes

11:23 - a - first violins + woodwinds
12:15 - a - first and second violins + woodwinds
13:07 - b - one trumpet + all violins + woodwinds
13:59 - b - strings + trombone + woodwinds

14:50 - a - 1st violins, trumpets, saxes, flutes
15:41 - b - trumpets, trombones, 1st violins, flutes
16:21 - Interruption, modulation to E Major!!! Development of the melody!!!
16:48 - Back to C, Major, coda!!!

No recording, including this one, is an accurate representation of the actual sound near the end. You have to hear Ravel in an actual theater to understand what I mean. Those who have never gone to a concert hall are encouraged to have that experience.

@TheRealTricky So you're Dutch?, I'm from Venezuela, where Gustavo Dudamel was born also.
I speak two languages also, Spanish and English.
I don't speak on behalf of God, I only share His Holy Word to bring light to this fallen and darkened world, to obey God's Command to share His Gospel with the world:
Matthew 28:19-20
King James Version
_"19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen."_
I am indeed just mortal human being with an immortal soul, which after I die will go to the presence of Almighty God, hence my insistence to tell all the people I can that this life lasts less time than a blink of an eye compared to the spiritual life that awaits every human being after his/her last breath.
If you studied The Holy Bible as you say, you should know that the only true God is The God of The Bible, all others are lies from Satan:
John 14:6
"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
By The Grace of God I was born again close to two years ago, I'm a new creature in Christ, hence, The Holy Spirit of God dwells in me, I'm His Temple, and I try to do my very best to live up to it.
Every Christian that believes in The Bible, (not a religion) and lives according to the teaching of Jesus Christ is saved and is going to Heaven, I'm not threatening you with Hell, I'm sharing with you and all who care to listen what God says about Hell:
We're all sinners:
Romans 3:10-31
King James Version
"10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: 11 There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.13 Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips:14 Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness:15 Their feet are swift to shed blood:16 Destruction and misery are in their ways:17 And the way of peace have they not known:18 There is no fear of God before their eyes."
I'm not saying this is you, but look around you, look at what's happening in this wicked world today, all the abominations people do before God's sight ... they're all lost, not accepting, even realizing that the only way to be saved is thru Jesus Christ.

You have the last word in this thread, I wont bother you any longer.
I truly wish you well (your real name), may God bless you and yours.

@Jorge A. Batoca B. For some reason you remind me of Genesis (the band, not the Bible book)...
"Jesus he knows me, and he knows I'm right.
And I've been talking to Jesus, all my life!
Oh yes, he knows me, and he knows I'm right.
And he's been telling me, everything'll be alright!"

I've had a religious upbringing too you know, and I've also been in church a lot as a kid, and even my lessons at school were religious and during my MAVO terms (which is not exactly the same, but can be seen as the (former) Dutch version of highschool) I even had religion lessons with the Bible on the table, so you don't need to educate me on that subject. And it always makes me wonder what Jesus would say if he had any idea what became of his ideas in the present time. I can't talk for somebody else, but something tells me he'd be mad at himself for bringing his teachings up... What always gets me is that Jesus is often depicted is somebody who was very much against the feeling of supremacy and yet all people preaching on the internet today are telling me I should "give myself to Jesus", like he is the supreme being... Ironic....
Fact remains that THIS is NOT the place to bring the holy word. I've told you many times and yet you insist on keeping on doing it. Stubbornness is not a virtue... That is something that I've seen both priests and atheists agree on.... Of course the borderline between stubbornness and determination is a thin one, I gotta admit that. And I can read the Bible for myself, you don't need to quote it for me... Hey, they even got a translation in my first language (I'm bilingual, I can speak both English and Dutch), so that makes things easier, I suppose, and both old and new testaments are all freely accessible to me on the internet.

You know, spamming is considered a crime, and the way you brought this up is spamming, and a crime in the name of God or Jesus, befouling their names in the process. My vision of "sin" may be distorted (at least, you appear to think so), but you know, I am not an atheist, I only have my own way of believing, and I can't imagine God or Jesus or Allah or Mohammed or Zeus or Odin or Shiva or Buddha or whoever it is you wanna pray to, are amused by their names being abused like that. But hey, what do I know... I am merely a mortal being, so who am I to speak on the behalf of an almighty entity, we call "God"? Brings us also to the question, who are you to speak on their behalf? You are as much a mortal human being as I am, after all... Any idiot can copy and paste from the Bible, but nobody can know the truth about the will of whatever is out there. Nor is it in your place to threaten me with Hell.

@TheRealTricky I stand corrected about the abrupt manner I posted my comment, thank you for pointing it out.
Thanks to your admonishment and the guidance of God's Holy Spirit, now I have a better/"worldly proper" way to share The Holy Word of God under any circumstance, place, platform, social media etc.
Your interpretation of sin is very distorted and does not apply in the least to my post, after reading this (my last post on this thread) you will insist in you view and I will in mine, hence, we'll never agree, you should ask Almighty God if you're doing your best to live according His Holy Commandments, to obey His Great Comission of sharing His Holy Word, I am, not without struggle, for I'm still fighting this fallen body which by The Grace of God will be Glorified someday by Him.
I committed no sin whatsoever and my Heavenly Father who knows the intentions of our hearts has let me know exactly that, all praise, honor and glory be to Him forever Amen.
Being a Composer myself, I should have started my comment with how I consider Ravel's Bolero to be a very clever piece of music, I could go into instrumentation, meter, timbre etc etc, but it would take a lot of time that I rather use in matters that concern God.
According to this quote from Ravel:
_"What you write to me about the benefits of religion, we have spoken of it with Pierrette Haour, an atheist like me." _
—Ravel letter in 1920 to Ida Godebska, cited in "Maurice Ravel: lettres, écrits, entretiens" (letters, writings, interviews), Arbie Orenstein, ed., (1989), I wonder why Ravel couln't realize that such a great talent as his couldn't only come from God, and what's more important, can't help to wonder where is his immortal soul at this very moment, which brings me to my previous comment;
If you die tomorrow, today ... where do you think you will go ?, ... Heaven or Hell? ...

If you die in Sin, you will die forever, your Immortal Soul will go to Hell and you will be condemned there, eternally separated from God.
If you die believing in Jesus Christ, loving and obeying him, you will have Eternal Life in Heaven, and you will live Eternally with God.
I ask God the Father, that whoever you are and are reading these words ... think about them ... so that you may believe in Jesus Christ, accept him as your Redeemer, your Savior, your Lord, flee from the temptations of this fallen world, repent from your sins, so that you may become The Living Temple of His Holy Spirit, be His son / daughter and do His Will, so, when you leave this world, after death, you can be in the presence of Almighty God forever.
Give your life to Jesus today, He gave His life for you and shed His blood for you ... ask him to intercede for you before God the Father to forgive your sins and that with his Holy Spirit may He give you the spiritual strength to never sin again.
Whoever you are reading these words, I want you to know that God is Perfect Love, and also, Perfect Justice.
I am praying for you.
May God bless you, Amen

The Holy Word of God - The Bible:
John 3 .16 - 21
"16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God."

1 Corinthians 15
"15 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures"
