I think my favorite aspect of this scene is the comradery between all of the boys. Crutchy is disabled, and cannot do a lot of what the other boys do but it doesn't stop them from rough housing a little with him, yet they never push it too far because they know better. And they treat each other like family despite the fact they like to argue as young teens/boys would. It's a nice touch <3

trois No you're not. His voice is amazing. If you don't know, that is Skittery, played by Michael A. Goorjian. From the information I've gathered, he is around 16-19 year old and he got his name because of him being very cautious and shy of the newsies when he first started. Also being very nervous of new things. He is the pessimist of the Newsies and the downer of the group. He is always voicing his opinion, shown in the diner scene, ”You get your picture in the papes, so what’s that get ya, huh?” His closest friends seem to be Specs and Dutchy. He and Racetrack are also pretty close because they have no problem smacking each other around. He is also seen hanging out with Mush in several scenes. It's not specified where Skittery came from as no one is exactly sure. From what I've gathered from the first scene we see him in (the bedroom being woken up from Kloppman) I can be fairly certain he comes from an abusive family. The phrase, ”I didn't do it!” generally makes me think that he came from an abusive family with siblings who either lied to get him in trouble or he didn't have siblings and tried to stray away from his abuser's wrath, therefore, ”I didn't do it” was his response to try and justify his reasoning every time. It is canon though that whenever Tumbler had first come to the lodging house as a small child, Skittery takes him under his wing and trains him to be a Newsie, taking on the big brother role. That's all I've been able to find so far.

Thomas Jollie I liked some of the new songs (especially Brooklyn's here and the revamped seize the day) but the musical had way too much filler. Also why expand an already shitty romantic Arch and turn the main character into an entitled asshole for most of the musical. Also why worry so greatly about crutches safety and gave up the strike they sang two entire songs saying they wouldn't chicken out if something happened. Why do people prefer the musical if the movie is better in everyway.
