The Golden City
Max Lucado Lyrics

Offered up by mercy's hand
A better view than where you're standing
A doorway to another land
The sweetest welcome from the Father
Gathered up and carried home
We are past this time of waiting
Come let us bow before Your throne
We will meet in the Golden City in the New Jerusalem
All our pain and all our tears will be no more
We will stand with the hosts of heaven
And cry holy is the Lamb
We will worship and adore You evermore
Never can the powers of darkness
Neither death nor even life
Let nothing ever separate us
From the holy love of God
We will meet in the Golden City in the New Jerusalem
All our pain and all our tears will be no more
We will stand with the hosts of heaven
And cry holy is the Lamb
We will worship and adore You evermore
We will meet in the Golden City in the New Jerusalem
All our pain and all our tears will be no more
We will stand with the hosts of heaven
And cry holy is the Lamb
We will worship and adore You evermore
We will meet in the Golden City in the New Jerusalem
All our pain and all our tears will be no more
Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lamb
(Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lamb)
(You are holy)
Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lamb
(Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lamb)
The lyrics of Max Lucado's song "The Golden City" speaks about the end of trials and tribulations that come with life, and the glorious reward that awaits believers in Jesus Christ in heaven. The song portrays the beauty and infinite love of God, who has promised a new home to all those who believe in Him. The opening lines, "Soon your trials will be over, offered up by mercy's hand," reminds listeners that their struggles are temporary and redeemed by God's grace. Those who follow Christ will arrive at a destination beyond this world, where they will be welcomed by the Father.
The song describes the Golden City, a place where pain and tears are no more, and believers will stand amongst the hosts of heaven worshiping the Lamb of God forevermore. The lyrics also express the assurance of God's love and protection, that nothing can separate us from His holy love. The song ultimately inspires listeners to hold on to their faith and hope of an eternal future that God has prepared for those who believe.
