Due to the almost constant touring and recording with The Prodigy, Maxim rarely had a chance to make his own solo material. After the band started to take it more easy after the intense touring to support The Fat of the Land in late 1998, he finally had the spare time to work and finish some of his projects. That year he released "Dog Day" on the XL promo Against the Grain, which also featured Howlett's "Dirtchamber Remix" of "Diesel Power" (from The Fat of the Land) and Maxim's cover version of the Rolling Stones' "Factory Girl". On 9 August 1999 Maxim released the EP My Web, which contained five tracks. In 2000 Maxim had a collaboration with Skin from Skunk Anansie on the song "Carmen Queasy", which remains his biggest solo success. A second single, "Scheming", was released September 11, and finally the full-length
album Hell's Kitchen, was released on 2 October 2000.
Keith "Keeti" Palmer (born 21 March 1967, in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, England), best known as Maxim or Maxim Reality, is an MC of the British electronica/rave band The Prodigy. He is known for his fierce style of appearance in both music videos and live shows, often wearing coloured contact lenses and kilts. His fierce style is also vibrant in the lyrical sense; in live shows he is known to scream and shout to hype up the audience. He is married and has a son named Tay (born in 2002).
Pre-Prodigy history
Maxim was born in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, England, youngest of four children, he went to the Jack Hunt secondary school, also in Peterborough. He enjoyed writing poetry and verse and began MC-ing around the age of 14. He gained inspiration from his ten year older MC brother, MC Starky Ban Tan, who introduced him into the Peterborough Reggae Soundsystem Scene. At the age of 17 he had his first gig in Basingstoke. Ian Sherman, a fellow musician from Nottingham teamed up with Maxim and they formed Maxim Reality and Sheik Yan Groove, where Sherman made the music and Maxim contributed with lyrics. After recording some tracks together and not getting any attention from the record industries, Maxim decided to disband and went on a three month travel throughout Europe and North Africa. Upon returning to England he moved to London to get more into the music and reggae scene of the metropol. Through a friend, Ziggy, he was offered a gig with a band called The Prodigy, which he accepted. He was planning to do just a few gigs with the band, but he later decided to stay. His maniac appearance and intense performance made him popular in the rave scene.
MC of The Prodigy
Originally joining The Prodigy to make the live shows become more alive, Maxim's lyrical talents were later incorporated in the studio works of the albums after The Prodigy Experience from 1992 (although his vocal contributions were heard in the live track "Death of the Prodigy Dancers" on Experience). Maxim provided lyrics in the single "Poison" from Music For the Jilted Generation (1994), as well as in the hit single "Breathe" from The Fat of the Land (1997). However, on the Prodigy album Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned from 2004, his vocal works were completely absent, apart from the single "Spitfire" and an appearance on the albums first single "Girls" in form of a remix called "More girls". He is still a full member of the band, though, performing in the live shows and, according to their official web site, recording material with Liam Howlett.

Willenlos, will dich
The lyrics of Maxim's song "Hype" talk about the fleeting nature of fame and how people can get caught up in the hype, believing in someone or something that turns out to be just a passing fad. The verses describe a person who seemed to have it all, with an intoxicating presence and a feeling of invincibility. However, when the party is over and the confetti is swept away, there is nothing left of that person or their impact. Their fame was just a temporary high, a hype that ultimately left nothing of substance behind.
The chorus, repeated throughout the song, drives home the message that this person was only a hype, a fad that burned bright for a short time and then disappeared, leaving nothing but disappointment and disillusionment in its wake. The lyrics urge the listener not to fall for the hype, not to get caught up in the moment and forget what truly matters. The final verse portrays the aftermath of the hype, showing the hangover and emptiness that result from chasing temporary pleasures and fleeting fame.
Overall, Maxim's "Hype" is a cautionary tale about the dangers of chasing fame and popularity, and a reminder to focus on what really matters in life.

Hast alles übertrieben, maßlos
You exaggerated everything, excessively
Eine Parfümwolke, ein Hauch von nichts
A cloud of perfume, a breath of nothing
You showed me everything at first glance
But when the cleaning lady sweeps away the confetti from the dance floor
Gibt es nichts, was von dir bleibt
There's nothing left of you
Denn du warst nur ein Hype
Because you were just a hype
Bist für mich verbrannt
You burnt out for me
Und dafür glaubte ich an dich
And for that, I believed in you
Einen Sommer lang
For one summer
Bis du von meinem Himmel fielst
Until you fell from my sky
So hell und allein
So bright and alone
So schön und so schnell vorbei
So beautiful and so quickly over
Der ganze Saal hypnotisiert
The whole room hypnotized
Willenlos, will dich
Helpless, wants you

An mehr erinnerst du dich nicht, Filmriss
You don't remember anything more, blackout

And laughed loudly for fifteen minutes
Und die Kippe danach
And the cigarette afterwards
Drückte ich nach zwei Zügen aus
I put it out after two puffs
Dann übergab ich der Toilette
Then I threw up in the toilet
Die Flugzeugtrümmer aus mei'm Bauch
The plane wreckage from my stomach
Paradies abgegrast, Apfel gepflückt
Paradise explored, apple picked
Ich sagte Tschüss und ging raus
I said goodbye and left
And in the morning, three aspirins are enough in the kitchen
Und du löstest dich auf
And you dissolved
Bist für mich verbrannt
You burnt out for me
Und dafür glaubte ich an dich
And for that, I believed in you
Einen Sommer lang
For one summer
Bis du von meinem Himmel fielst
Until you fell from my sky
So hell und allein
So bright and alone
So schön und so schnell vorbei
So beautiful and so quickly over
