With the work hard, play hard, do whatever it takes to spread your music philosophy that most young bands need to have these days, the band took to the road and started winning over kids not just in Florida, but across the country. Mayday Parade was consistently in the top 30 unsigned artists on MySpace. They've consolidated over 50,000 friends and growing and have totaled over 2.4 Million plays. With labels hot on their tail, Mayday Parade decided that Fearless Records was the one for them and signed at the end of the summer 2006.
They then released their first professional record, A Lesson In Romantics, in 2007. Shortly after, one of the lead singers/vocalist Jason Lancaster ( lead guitarist/vocalist of Kid Named Chicago) left the band over a songwriting dispute. He then started his own band, Go Radio. There are no hard feelings between the two bands, although Lancaster later commented, "I wish it could have gone down differently."
In 2009, the band released their second album and first without Lancaster, Anywhere But Here.
Mayday Parade's live show also conveys their personality by assuring that they are intensely full of life. The band knows how to put on an engaging show with five energetic members. There's no escaping the energy that Mayday Parade brings. They're all over the stage, making sure the audience goes home happy and wanting more. They love to get the crowd engaged!
In 2011, the band released their third, self titled album.

And a show of hearts on the floor, who has ever meant them more
Well I'll swallow my pride if you'll stay for the years
And watch me spin circles as I disappear
Hearts, they don't lie they just quiver in fear
As you say
And stay the night
If I was wrong then I'm sorry
I'll stop this fight
For the night
And this empty space left in the seat
To my right where you should be says a lot
Don't let it say goodbye
Don't let it say goodbye
Let it say goodbye
Forget everything and stay the night
If I was wrong I am sorry
I'll stop this fight
For the night
And this empty space left in the seat
To my right where you should be says a lot
And today I know that tomorrow will shine golden and bring our hearts back home
And today I know that tomorrow will shine golden and bring our hearts back home
And today I know that tomorrow will shine golden and bring our hearts back home
[Echo; And today meant nothing, because you're gone
And I swear that this meant everything to me, because my hearts not home]
And today I know that tomorrow will shine golden and bring our hearts back home
The lyrics to Mayday Parade's song Just Say You're Not Into It explore the feelings of a person desperately trying to hold on to a relationship. The first verse asks who among listeners has said the words “just say you're not into it” before, hinting at the singer's own desperation. The second line, “And a show of hearts on the floor, who has ever meant them more,” references the singer's deep commitment to the relationship that is slowly slipping away. The chorus is an appeal by the singer to their partner not to give up on the relationship, at least not for that night. They suggest forgetting everything and staying the night, hoping that they can repair the situation before it's too late. The line “Hearts, they don't lie they just quiver in fear,” speaks to the singer's sense of vulnerability and the fragility of their emotions.
In the second verse, the singer continues to plead their case, confessing that they will swallow their pride to save the relationship. They also acknowledge that they have been spinning in circles, disappearing before their partner's eyes. The empty space beside the singer suggests that their partner has already given up on them, leaving them alone and desperate. The bridge provides a glimmer of hope, with the repeated refrain, “And today I know that tomorrow will shine golden and bring our hearts back home.” However, the echo line that follows, “And today meant nothing, because you're gone, and I swear that this meant everything to me, because my hearts not home,” ends the song on a bittersweet note, with the singer acknowledging that the relationship may well be over.
