With the work hard, play hard, do whatever it takes to spread your music philosophy that most young bands need to have these days, the band took to the road and started winning over kids not just in Florida, but across the country. Mayday Parade was consistently in the top 30 unsigned artists on MySpace. They've consolidated over 50,000 friends and growing and have totaled over 2.4 Million plays. With labels hot on their tail, Mayday Parade decided that Fearless Records was the one for them and signed at the end of the summer 2006.
They then released their first professional record, A Lesson In Romantics, in 2007. Shortly after, one of the lead singers/vocalist Jason Lancaster ( lead guitarist/vocalist of Kid Named Chicago) left the band over a songwriting dispute. He then started his own band, Go Radio. There are no hard feelings between the two bands, although Lancaster later commented, "I wish it could have gone down differently."
In 2009, the band released their second album and first without Lancaster, Anywhere But Here.
Mayday Parade's live show also conveys their personality by assuring that they are intensely full of life. The band knows how to put on an engaging show with five energetic members. There's no escaping the energy that Mayday Parade brings. They're all over the stage, making sure the audience goes home happy and wanting more. They love to get the crowd engaged!
In 2011, the band released their third, self titled album.

This wasn't meant for her too
She struggles to find herself in time
But she can barely move
Just try and get up
You've gotta slowly brush off
I know that words aren't enough
But you're better than this
Save your heart
For someone that's worth dying for
Don't give it away
Torn apart
Never getting what you've been crying for
It's always the same
She turns the pages everyday
Just to change the mood
But every chapter reads the same
So hard to make it through
Just try and get up
You've gotta slowly brush off
I know that words aren't enough
But you're better than this
Save your heart
For someone that's worth dying for
Don't give it away
Torn apart
Never getting what you've been crying for
It's always the same
And you give
And they take
And it's love that you want
But not love that you make
Save your heart
For someone that's worth dying for
Don't give it away
Save your heart
For someone who leaves you breathless
And I know that you're scared
Seems like someone said you had it in you
All along you said you knew this was wrong
But still worth dying for
Save your heart
For someone who leaves you breathless
And I know that you're scared
Seems like someone said you had it in you
All along you said you knew this was wrong
But still worth dying for
And you give (And you give)
And they take (And they take)
And it's love that you want,
But not love that you make
Save your heart
For someone that's worth dying for
Don't give it away
Don't give it away
The lyrics to Mayday Parade's song Save Your Heart are about a girl who is struggling to find herself and is feeling lost in her life. She has fallen to the bottom and is having a hard time getting up. The song talks about how she should save her heart for someone that is worth dying for and not give it away to someone who will tear it apart. The lyrics encourage her to slowly brush off and keep going, as words alone are not enough to help her.
The lyrics further describe how the girl is constantly trying to change her life by turning the pages, but every chapter reads the same, making it hard to move on. The song tells her to keep trying and save her heart for someone who leaves her breathless, even if she is scared. The chorus repeats the message of saving one's heart for someone who is worth it, and not giving it away to those who do not deserve it.
Overall, the lyrics are a message of hope and encouragement for the girl to find someone who is deserving of her love and to not give up on herself.
