LAY DOWN
Mazgani Lyrics

Faded flowers in the years
I sat by the water side
And dreamt of you my dear
I lay down
I lay down again
No hand to lead the way
No lantern I'm all alone
Under the winter rain
I lay down
I lay down again
Come and speak of love
Bring the secret from above
Oh speak of love
The song "Lay Down" by Mazgani is a melancholic ballad that is sung with a somber and heart-wrenching voice that makes the listener feel every word. The lyrics are dark and introspective, as the singer laments not being able to find someone who could guide him through life's hardships. In the first verse, the singer sits by the water reflecting on his lost love while the flowers in the river symbolize the passing of time. The chorus "I lay down, I lay down again" suggests the singer's resignation to the pain and despair he is feeling.
In the second verse, the singer is lost in the woods without a guide or a source of light, which is a metaphor for his emotional journey. He is alone and vulnerable under the winter rain, which is another metaphor for his sadness and loneliness. The chorus repeats, emphasizing his sense of defeat and hopelessness. The final plea "Come and speak of love, bring the secret from above, oh speak of love" is the singer's final attempt to find a source of comfort and light in his life.
Overall, the song "Lay Down" is a poignant reminder of how loss and isolation can make us feel vulnerable and helpless, but it also highlights the healing power of love.
