Let It Snow
McFly Lyrics

But the fire is so delightful
And since we've no place to go
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow
It doesn't show signs of stopping
And I've brought some corn for popping
The lights are turned way down low
When we finally kiss goodnight
How I hate going out in the storm
But if you really hold me tight
All the way home I'll be warm
The fire is slowly dying
And my dear we're still goodbye-ing
As long as you love me so
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow
All the way home I'll be warm
All the way home I'll be warm
The fire is slowly dying
And my dear I'm still goodbye-ing
As long you love me so
Let it snow, Let it Snow, Let it snow
Let it snow, Let is snow, Let is snow
Let it snow, Let it snow, Let it snow
The song "Let It Snow" by McFly is a cover of the classic Christmas song of the same name. Although the song was written in 1945 by lyricist Sammy Cahn and composer Jule Styne, McFly's version brings a new energy to the tune. The lyrics speak of cold weather and snowfall, but the singer finds comfort in the warmth of a fire and the embrace of a loved one. The repetition of "let it snow" throughout the song becomes a mantra to accept and embrace the circumstances, whether it be the storm outside or the eventual goodbye with the loved one.
The opening lines of "Oh the weather outside is frightful / But the fire is so delightful" set the scene for the song's theme of finding warmth in cold times. The singer expresses a desire to stay indoors and enjoy the company of their partner, rather than venture out into the harsh winter storm. The line "And since we've no place to go" implies that the snow has effectively trapped them inside, emphasizing the feeling of being cooped up together. As the song progresses, the singer acknowledges the dwindling heat from the fire and the inevitability of saying goodbye to their partner. Despite the sadness that comes with this farewell, the singer finds comfort in their love for one another and the cozy shelter from the snow.
