They are managed by Prestige Management, and were signed to the Island Records label from their launch (2004) until December 2007, before creating their own label, Super Records. McFly is also the youngest band ever to have an album debut at #1.
McFly appeared in the teen comedy film Just My Luck, starring Lindsay Lohan and Chris Pine, in 2006. The band played themselves in the film and released a US album, Just My Luck, which was also used as the film's soundtrack.
Walk in the Sun

I wonder what it's like to be home
And I don't walk where there's a stone in my shoe
All I know is that with time I'll be fine
I wonder what it's like to fly so high
Or to breathe under the sea
I wonder if some day I'll be good with goodbyes
Such a long, long way to go
Where I'm going I don't know
I'm just following the road
For a walk in the sun
For a walk in the sun
I wonder how they put a man on the moon
I wonder what it's like up there
I wonder if you'll ever sing this tune
All I know is the answer's in the air
Such a long, long way to go
Where I'm going I don't know
I'm just following the road
For a walk in the sun
For a walk in the sun
Sitting here watching the world going by
Is it true when we die we go up to the sky
Whoa
Whoa
So many things that I don't understand
Burnt feet in the sand when I'm walking in the sun
Whoa
Walking in the sun
Such a long, long way to go
And where I'm going I don't know
I'm just following the road
For a walk in the sun
For a walk in the sun
Yeah
Whoa
The lyrics to McFly's song Walk in the Sun express wonder and curiosity about the world around us, and the desire to experience it all. The first verse begins with the singer wondering what it's like to be loved by another person and to feel at home. He then adds an analogy about not walking where there's a stone in his shoe, implying that he wants to avoid anything that could hinder his journey towards his aspirations. The singer muses about what it would be like to fly high or breathe under the sea, while also questioning the possibility of ever becoming good at goodbyes. However, he finds solace in the idea of having someone by his side, as he declares that he will be okay as long as they "come along for the ride."
The second verse continues with the singer's musings, this time wondering how humanity managed to put a man on the moon and what it must be like up there. The singer continues to emphasize that he doesn't have all the answers, but he is certain that they are out there somewhere. The chorus repeats the main theme of the song, emphasizing the long journey ahead, with no clear destination in sight, yet the singer is content to simply follow the road and take in the scenery.
The final portion of the song has more of a mysterious touch to it, with the singer questioning the afterlife and all of its unknowns. However, he finds peace in the fact that there are so many things in this world that he doesn't understand, yet he can still enjoy the simple pleasure of walking in the sun.
Overall, the song Walk in the Sun highlights the beauty of being curious and the importance of having someone to share life's journey with.
