After many years of touring, the band began to accumulate a large fanbase. It was around this time, in 2005, that original bassist Blair Roberts quit to pursue a family. He was replaced by Dylan Johnstone(formerly of Yorkton, SK hardcore group Statement of Service). They remained a 3-piece until mid 2006 when Todd joined so Dylan could switch to lead vocals. This era of the band saw them switch to a straight up Metalcore sound ispired by Shai Hulud and Misery Signals. The group toured in the US and Canada constantly, and was featured in the June 2007 issue of Alternative Press magazine as well as multiple other publications. Their 2007 album, Sending You Strength, was released in the US on Facedown Record.
Their latest record, To Keep Me From Sinking, was well received and let this band drop of the scene gracefully and happily after this final album
Means disbanded after a series of farewell shows in select Canadian cities as well as a few US cities.
They played their final show to a sold-out crowd at the Riddell Centre in the University of Regina on November 28, 2008. If you want to hear the new band that the lead singer is in, check out the band Continuance
Awareness
Means Lyrics

Like I couldn't just pretend
I didn't feel anything... anything real
But what do I have left to live for?
If I can't deny I'm torn in two directions
We have to live for
What we are passionate about
The death inside us all
For the desperate
Does an answer arrive?
If we're losing sleep and wasting our time
And the song of this world is tragic
It is played out into all of our lives
And when we find it hard to breathe
Out of place... just fallen leaves
Let this be a reminder today and tomorrow
Not to be lulled to sleep
To keep me from sinking
Let this be a reminder
When we find it hard to breath
Will we keep from sinking?
The song Awareness by Means seems to address the struggles of dealing with inner turmoil and the struggle to find purpose amidst the pain. The opening lines indicate a struggle with repressing feelings and pretending that everything is okay, followed by a rhetorical question about the point to life if one can't deny being torn in two directions. This sets the tone for the rest of the song, as it explores the idea that one must find purpose and passion to bring life to the death inside.
The chorus emphasizes this idea, stating that we must live for what we are passionate about and bring life to the death within us all. The bridge seems to address feelings of desperation and questioning whether there is an answer to the struggles faced. The world is described as tragic, and the song seems to highlight the idea that this tragedy is something that is played out in all of our lives. The lyrics seem to warn against being lulled to sleep and losing sight of what defines us and keeps us from sinking.
In summary, the song Awareness is a powerful anthem that encourages its listeners to find purpose and passion in life, even amidst inner turmoil and tragedy. It urges the listener to stay awake and not be lulled to sleep by life's challenges.
