Over their lifespan, the band has been part of multiple compilation CDs and released their first full length masterpiece, "The Assembly of Tyrants". With multiple minds combining many unique and unorthodox styles of music, combining industrial atmospheres, precision inspired metal, and epic orchestrations, Mechina has created their own style of metal. Music that not only creates an atmosphere around the listener, but also displays a very powerful aura of intensity. Mechina strives to create a deeper and more intelligent form of music. Its very hard through words to describe the feeling this song conjures up within me, especially at the very beginning of the first verse where I can only imagine where the individual speaking must be. The lyrics of this song seem to sum up mankind in its struggles with arrogance and theologically justified violence toward itself. We all search for solace. To escape from the human condition that binds us far too tightly, leading us to unspeakable acts of cruelty. Perhaps music can lead the way.

Brilliant opus from Mechina. On a side note, I'll be damned if this track isn't the perfect fit for the climactic battle on Earth in Mass effect 3.

If you listen to Mechina you'll hear FF roots. Granted this song doesn't sound like FF but it resembles it.

I wish the bass drum had more of a boom to the strikes. As it sounds now you can distinguish every beat and it's easy to hear when it's playing, but to me it feels very superficial. And, does Mechina have a bassist? I'm asking because I can't be sure when listening to the music.

Aedalas Imo so far they reached their peak on this one, but that is just my personal opinion.

DFG I'd have thought this was laughable just a week ago but after hearing Acheron I'm starting to think they peaked somewhere right between Empyrean and Xenon. It's not a bad album or anything but their older albums are just so fucking amazing that this one was a little bit of a letdown.

Anyway, while I don't particularly agree with you I do know that you're by no means alone in your opinion. When I was younger I probably would have though the same myself but I've begun appreciating the orchestra/choir and electronic elements even more as I get older. Conqueror was much closer to just metal and, while it was great for what it was, I think those added elements to their last few albums really set them apart.
