Wie viele seiner Generation entdeckte er die Liebe zur Musik durch seine Mutter und die Liebe zum HipHop durch seinen älteren Bruder. Kursierten erst die mit Run DMC, Snoop Dogg und Warren G. bespielten Kassetten in seinem Zimmer, landeten sie kurze Zeit später im Tapedeck des neugierigen Meezy, der sich ab da an die Zeit mit einer Welt aus Graffiti, Breakdance, DJing und Rappen vertrieb. So zog es den 13 jährigen Meezy auf die Strassen FFMs, wo er einen ersten kreativen Ausdruck durch Marker und Dose fand, bis einer dieser klassischen wie ereignisreichen Besuche im Jugendzentrum die Musik vollends in sein Leben brachte.
„Heißer“ vom Frankfurter Urgestein D-Flame erschien im August 2000 und entfachte auch das Feuer in Meezy, der sich fortan jedes Mic schnappte, welches sich ihm bot. Mit der Crew Feinschmecker sammelte er erste Erfahrungen auf der Bühne und im Studio und erspielte sich so Fans und Aufmerksamkeit. Dabei ging es dem charismatischen MC schon immer um mehr als nur um die Musik. Er hatte HipHop als Kultur, als Einheit kennengelernt und so wertschätzt der MC auch immer noch jede Säule dessen, was sich dieser Tage leider ausdifferenzierte.
„Ich bin niemand von denen, die sagen, dass früher alles besser war. Aber es war eben die Zeit, in der ich zu HipHop, zu Graffiti, zum Rappen fand. Natürlich bedeutet mir das sehr viel. Dadurch habe ich gelernt, was es heißt, sich selbst etwas aufzubauen und einen eigenen Style zu entwickeln. Das hat mich und meinen Perfektionismus geprägt. Wenn ich also heute ins Studio gehe, dann nur, weil ich etwas zu erzählen habe und Rap liebe. Das habe ich mir bis heute beibehalten.“
