Inspired by artists like Adele and Amy Winehouse and classic soul acts like Sam Cooke and Ray Charles, her star rose throughout 2014 as she continued releasing singles, toured, and prepared her debut EP, MEGMAC, which was released in June 2015. The EP enjoyed plenty of success in Australia, earning her an ARIA Music Award nomination and spawning the hit single "Never Be."
Her full-length debut, Low Blows, arrived in the summer of 2017 and was preceded by a single of the same name.
In October 2018, Mac released the single "Give Me My Name Back" which she told Billboard "is a song for those who have suffered emotional and physical abuse; it's for the women who are standing up and speaking out, those discriminated against in the LGBTQI community, the indigenous people of Australia and the children abused by the church. For everyone who has lost an important part of themselves and need to reclaim their identity, dignity and self-worth in order to move forward with their lives.

And face the faces looking right back at me
It's easier to leave it all
It's easier to fake it, oh oh
So I go and I took the free
'Cause people there, they're just like me oh
Everything is gonna be alright
Oh, they're hunting me
And he is not fancy, he just wears black
Head to toe
And oh, they're hunting me
So I go and I change my name
But they're chasing them just like me
Ooh well everything is gonna be alright
Ooh well everything is gonna be alright oh
Roll up your sleeves
And roll up your sleeves
Everything is gonna be alright
Oh everything is gonna be alright
Everything is gonna be alright
The lyrics of "Roll Up Your Sleeves" by Meg Mac speaks about facing one's problems head-on and not running away from them. She encourages listeners to confront their struggles and not take the easy way out. The line "It's easier to leave it all, it's easier to fake it" emphasizes that running away or pretending everything is fine may seem like the easier option, but it's not a solution.
In the second verse, Meg Mac portrays herself as someone who has run away before. She mentions that she went away because the people where she was going were like her, and she could easily blend in. The chorus of the song, "Ooh well, everything is gonna be alright," is repeated several times throughout the song, reassuring listeners that even though things may seem tough, they will eventually get better.
The last verse of the song speaks about being hunted and changing one's name to escape from it. However, even after changing her name, Meg Mac realizes that they are still chasing her. The lyrics, "roll up your sleeves and roll up your sleeves" are repeated towards the end of the song, signifying that it's time to confront any issues and face them head-on. In conclusion, "Roll Up Your Sleeves" by Meg Mac is an empowering song that encourages listeners to be courageous and tackle their problems confidently.

This song becomes more contemporary every time i hear it. A battlecry song for cancer patients, and now should be the national vaccine anthem.....
