Shortly before graduating from Carnegie Mellon, Hilty auditioned for the part of Glinda in the hit musical, Wicked. After graduating, she moved to New York City, and in mid-2004, she made her Broadway debut in the show. She originally served as the standby for Jennifer Laura Thompson before taking over the principal role on May 31, 2005. She played Glinda for a year, ending her run on May 28, 2006, having been replaced by Kate Reinders, the original Glinda in the Chicago production of Wicked.
Hilty recently starred in a musical called Vanities at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts in Mountain View with TheatreWorks. She reprised her role as Glinda in the national tour of Wicked from September to December 2006, for a 4-month stint in the Portland, Oregon and Seattle stops, as well as the Toronto stop alongside former Broadway co-star Shoshana Bean. She is currently playing Glinda again alongside former co-star, Eden Espinosa, in the open-ended Los Angeles production of Wicked. Her contract is active until November 2007.
In January 2007, it was announced that Hilty was cast in the role of Doralee Rhodes in the reading for a musical based on the 1980s workplace comedy 9 to 5. Official casting for the show has not been announced. [1]
Megan guest starred on The Suite Life of Zack and Cody as Enid on August 5, 2007. She also did the singing voice of Snow White in Shrek the Third.
Megan Hilty has a very large vocal range, and may be considered a whistle register singer, as she hits a high E in "No One Mourns the Wicked", and the optional F6 in "Thank Goodness" during her performances of Wicked.
The Heart of the Matter

But I knew that it will call.
And old true friend of hours was talking on the phone
She said you found someone.
And I thought of all the bad luck and struggles we went through
How I lost me and you lost you
What are all these voices outside love's opened door
Because through off our contentment and beg for something more!
I′m learning to live without you now,
But I miss you sometimes!
More and more the less I understand
All the things I thought I knew
I'm learning again!
I've been trapped to get down
To heart of the matter
But my will gets weak and my thoughts seem to scatter
But I think it′s about forgiveness, forgiveness
Even if, even if you don′t love me anymore!
All these times are so uncertain
Is an earning undefined
People filled with rage.
We all need a little tenderness
How can love survive in such a graceless age?
The trust in self-assurance that lead to happiness
That the very things will you kill our...
Pride and competition cannot fill these empty arms
And the work I put between us, you know it doesn't keep me warm!
I′m learning to live without you now
But I miss you baby!
The more I know, the less I understand
All things I thought I figured out, I have to learn again!
I've been trying to get down to the heart of the matter
But everything changes and my friends seem to scatter
And I think it′s about forgiveness, forgiveness
Even if, even if you don't love me anymore!
There are people in your life who come and go
That let you down and they hurt your pride
Better put it on a high... cause loves goes on
Keep carrying that anger, it will leave you up inside!
I′m learning to live without you now,
But I miss you sometimes!
The more and all the less I understand
Even if, even if you don't love me anymore!
The lyrics to Megan Hilty's song The Heart of the Matter delve into the complexity of human relationships, specifically the challenges of forgiveness and acceptance. The song begins with the news that the singer's ex-lover has found someone new. She thinks back to the struggles and bad luck they faced during their time together, and reflects on how they both lost a part of themselves. The line "What are all these voices outside love's opened door" suggests that societal expectations and pressures may have contributed to the breakdown of their relationship.
The chorus expresses the difficulty of moving on, but recognizing the importance of learning to live without the other person. The singer acknowledges the need for forgiveness, even if the other person doesn't love her anymore. As the song progresses, the lyrics touch on the uncertainty and anger in the world, and the need for tenderness and love. The bridge reminds the listener that holding onto anger and pride only leads to internal pain and conflict.
Overall, The Heart of the Matter is a powerful message of self-reflection and growth in the face of heartbreak and loss. It emphasizes the importance of forgiveness and acceptance, both in relationships and in life.

I got a call today that I didn't wanna hear
I received an upsetting call that I was dreading
But I knew that it will call.
But I had a feeling that it was going to happen
And old true friend of hours was talking on the phone
An old and trusted friend was on the other end of the call
She said you found someone.
My friend told me that you had found a new partner
And I thought of all the bad luck and struggles we went through
I reminisced on all the hardships we faced together
How I lost me and you lost you
We lost a part of ourselves during our journey
What are all these voices outside love's opened door
What are all these distractions that enter when we let love in
Because through off our contentment and beg for something more!
They disrupt our peace and make us crave more, even when we are content
I'm learning to live without you now,
I am in the process of moving on without you
But I miss you sometimes!
But I still have moments where I miss you
More and more the less I understand
I feel like the more I learn, the less I know
All the things I thought I knew
All the things I believed to be true
I'm learning again!
But now I am re-learning everything
I've been trapped to get down
I've been trying hard to understand

But sometimes I lose focus and struggle to stay on track
But I think it's about forgiveness, forgiveness
But I believe that everything boils down to forgiveness, forgiveness
Even if, even if you don't love me anymore!
Even if you don't feel the same about me!
All these times are so uncertain
The present is very unpredictable
Is an earning undefined
We are all trying to figure out what we really want
People filled with rage.
Society is filled with angry individuals
We all need a little tenderness
We all long for love and affection
How can love survive in such a graceless age?
How can love thrive in a time where there is no grace or kindness?
The trust in self-assurance that lead to happiness
Trusting in ourselves and our own decisions can bring us happiness
That the very things will you kill our...
But sometimes our own pride and competitiveness can hurt our relationships
Pride and competition cannot fill these empty arms
But our egos will never be a substitute for love
And the work I put between us, you know it doesn't keep me warm!
And the walls I built between us don't bring me comfort
There are people in your life who come and go
People come and go from our lives
That let you down and they hurt your pride
Some people disappoint us and damage our egos
Better put it on a high... cause loves goes on
It is better to prioritize forgiveness and let love endure
Keep carrying that anger, it will leave you up inside!
But holding onto anger and resentment will only harm ourselves
Even if, even if you don't love me anymore!
Even if you no longer have feelings for me

“These times are so uncertain,
There’s a yearning undefined, and people
Filled with rage.
We all need a little tenderness.
How can love survive in such a graceless age?”
Hits home for a lot of us these days, I’m sure.
Share songs like this with anyone you know. It’s never too late to start sharing love and building one another up. Hatred/discrimination is such an outdated concept. Be strong, be brave, do the right thing, as uncomfortable as it may seem. It’s the one true hope we all have to hold onto these days.

This is a spiritual experience listening to this lady’s cover of Don Henley’s opus. Perfect production, and the voice of an angel.

Although she has a very pleasant voice, none of us living has a clean heart to know what an Angel sounds like. And I believe that she would agree with me, It wouldn’t sound like her.
