Joy attended Taylorsville High School in Taylorsville, Utah. She had tried out for most of the programs available at her school, but ended up not making anything. She auditioned for Season 8 of American Idol in Salt Lake City, Utah, where she impressed the judges with her rendition of "Can't Help Lovin' That Man of Mine." She sailed through Hollywood Week and performed in Group 2 of the Top 36 with "Put Your Records On" by Corinne Bailey Rae. She was initially eliminated, but was chosen as one of the Wild Card contenders and was soon placed in the Top 13. Joy was initially known as Megan Corkrey, but added her middle name Joy in the semi-finals and later on dropped the name Corkrey, saying it was her ex-husband's name.
Megan Joy has appeared on several talk shows since her elimination from the Top 9 on April 1, 2009 and will be one of the performers on the American Idol 8 tour. She has been rumored to be one of the top choices to play Stevie Nicks' role in the upcoming Fleetwood Mac biopic and has stated that she's willing to dabble in the music or showbiz industry.
Rockin' Robin
Megan Joy Lyrics

Hoppin' and a-boppin' and singing his song
All the little birdies on Jaybird Street
Love to hear the robin go tweet tweet tweet
Rockin' robin, rock rock
Rockin' robin
Blow rockin' robin
Every little swallow, every chick-a-dee
Every little bird in the tall oak tree
The wise old owl, the big black crow
Flappin' their wings singing go bird go
Rockin' robin, rock rock
Rockin' robin
Blow rockin' robin
'Cause we're really gonna rock tonight
Yeah, yeah
Pretty little raven at the bird's bandstand
Told them how to do the bop and it was grand
They started going steady and bless my soul
He out-bopped the buzzard and the oriole
He rocks in the tree tops all day long
Hoppin' and a-boppin' and singing his song
All the little birdies on Jaybird Street
Love to hear the robin go tweet tweet tweet
Rockin' robin, rock rock
Rockin' robin
Blow rockin' robin
'Cause we're really gonna rock tonight
Pretty little raven at the bird's bandstand
Told them how to do the bop and it was grand
They started going steady and bless my soul
He out-bopped the buzzard and the oriole
He rocks in the tree tops all day long
Hoppin' and a-boppin' and singing his song

The whole thing was an embarrassment, and the "caw caw" was akin to John Stevens singing the "lalala" part in Crocodile Rock!!!

I thought this was one of her best performances! The judges dragged her.
@beach2550
Yeah it was a fun song but not vocally impressive tbh. I think she should've focused on showcasing her vocals more, like singing higher at some points or something. It seemed kinda bland
