When the band first started, they were surrounded by a cloud of mystery, as all of the band members were under contracts with other bands, and thus had to use pseudonyms to avoid any legal problems.
The current line-up is:
Ralf Hubert - Bass
Alex Landenburg - Drums
Benedikt Zimniak - Guitars
Erik Adam H. Grosch - Guitars
Martin Lemar - Vocals
However, big names such as Jörg Michael (Drums, Rage, Stratovarius and Saxon) , Peter Haas (Drums, Krokus), Jochen Schröder (Guitar, Rage, Avenger), Frank Fricke (Guitar, Living Death, U.D.O.), Reiner Kelch (Guitar, Living Death), Uwe Baltrusch (Guitar, Sodom and Peter "Peavy" Wagner (Bass, Rage) have also been members.
Sabre Dance
Mekong Delta Lyrics

As "Sabre Dance" is an instrumental piece, there are no actual lyrics per se. However, the piece is often associated with the ballet "Gayane" composed by Armenian composer Aram Khachaturian. The piece is a fast-paced song featuring frenzied strings and percussion. The song's title refers to the dance performed with swords, an ancient art originating from the Caucasus region. As such, the song's frantic, almost chaotic melody reflects the intensity and energy required in performing the sabre dance.
Some speculate that the piece may also carry deeper, historical connotations. Khachaturian composed the piece in 1942, at the height of World War II. Some have suggested that the frenzied melody, perhaps inspired by traditional Armenian folk music, reflects the turmoil and chaos of the war. Others have even suggested that the song could represent the Soviet Union's determination to fend off the Nazi invasion.

I came to listen to this because people were shit-talking the Skyclad version in comparison. After all the stuff like "this makes me fall asleep compared to Mekong Delta's version" and the like, I was expecting something actually... better. Not to diss Mekong Delta or anything, just in strict comparison of the two covers, I find Skyclad's superior, personally. This is definitely a good cover but it just doesn't appeal to me as much. I suspect it's a matter of which one you heard first.
