Do it in dark, turn your monitor off afterwards and see how your brain tries to optimize your view using no visual data. In my case, lines with intersections throughout my view, gluing to everthing i can get a sight to. This holds on for much longer than directly looking at things and is even controllable up to some point.

bro i thought i was the only one. pitch dark and no light pollution is the absolute best way to go...idk about you but I can turn the lights off to where it's pitch black, even have my black pillow over my eyes but not on them so i can still have them open.. but after a few seconds and my eyes adjust, i literally feel like i'm flying through space. the longer you stay calm and focus the more in depth it gets..it literally looks like your flying by stars, even shooting stars are flying in other directions, nebulas appear in blue and reddish colors..idk it's absolutely insane. little space meditation music and a a pitch dark room I may not come back one day lol
