Memory Garden followed up their first Metal Blade release with shows around Scandinavia and some summer festivals including the mighty "Wacken Open Air" in Germany during the summer of 1999. Having spent the fall of 1999 and the beginning of 2000 writing new material for their upcoming release, Memory Garden entered their own studio "Annoying Sound Factory" in Febuary with Mike Wead once again in the producer chair. Some of the recording was also done in Mike´s own studio, Miseria Recording. The result of their work is the ten song masterpiece that you now hold in your hands called "Mirage". This time Memory Garden have taken their music back to their roots and made an even heavier and darker album than "Verdict Of Posterity". Combining both bone crushing riffs with catchy melodies and layered with beautiful harmonies, the guys have once again made the Memory Garden spirit come alive.

Shadow Season
Memory Garden Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Try to figure out, try to figure out
Touch the edge and go insane it will remain
Without a doubt, without a doubt
A handful of something demonic
Holds so very harrow
A gesture from the evil and twisted
It seems like something unusual
Figment of the imagination
Croon the harmony of the fall
Welcome satanic domination
A handful of something demonic
Holds so very harrow
A gesture from the evil and twisted
An alley so narrow
In "Shadow Season," Memory Garden describes a haunting and unsettling scene. The gentle silver rain falling slowly sets a melancholic mood. The singer is trying to make sense of what's happening but is unable to, leading to a feeling of insanity. The lyrics suggest that something demonic, evil, and twisted is at play. The alleyway being so narrow adds to the claustrophobic and trapped feeling the singer is experiencing. The demonic entity, seemingly a figment of the imagination, is described as having sinister intentions, with the character being tricked and tempted into subjection.
The lyrics highlight a struggle between good and evil, with the singer being pulled towards the darker side. The references to demonic entities can be interpreted as a metaphor for the internal demons that people often have to face and overcome. The song portrays an atmosphere of unease and desolation, with the singer fighting to maintain a sense of control and sanity.
