Mending Point Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

When autumn finds the winter, I'll be saved
Colours red and yellow start to fade
As arguments and bitter words collide
I'm on the edge, and I'm walking barefoot
In the rain

Finding faith in failure catches me
The songs I learned as a child begin to speak
And all the while, You wonder if I know who I am
Well, I'm on the edge, and I'm walking barefoot
In the rain

Only You can break through all my walls
Only You can, only You can

For hours, I've been standing next to You
The second hand is chasing after truth
And You are waiting, and You are perfectly here
And we're on the edge, savoring every single breath.

Only You can break through all my walls
Tear my open, replace my self with You
Only You can understand me now
Only You can break through all my walls

Standing and waiting
Pulling me over the edge
Breaking and mending
Making me new again

Only You can break through all my walls
Tear my open, replace my self with You

Only You can understand me now
Only You can break through all my walls

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Mending Point's song "View" conveys a deeply personal and emotional message. The first verse illustrates a change in season - from autumn to winter - and symbolizes the end of something, with colors red and yellow fading. The singer feels on edge, and the use of the phrase "walking barefoot in the rain" indicates a raw and vulnerable state. However, the singer finds solace and resolution in moments of failure, and the songs they learned as a child take on a deeper meaning. The second verse explores a visceral connection to a higher power, where the singer asks for divine intervention to "break through all my walls." The bridge of the song emphasizes a moment of stillness and reflection next to someone else, and the importance of savoring each moment.

Overall, the song appears to be an encapsulation of an intense, personal struggle with finding inner peace, and a higher power. The lyrics use broad, symbolic imagery to convey a sense of vulnerability and openness, but also, to emphasize the power of faith.

Hi, Shelagh!!
I really like this video, thank you for sharing <3

One little thing that I think will be a good change: Making music a bit more quiet will be a huge help for people to hear you more clear. Right now it's a little bit hard, especially for hard of hearing folks ^^

Hello! My apologies for the weird sound. I make these videos for Instagram and cross upload them to YouTube for folks to watch on either platform. I have just listened to the video here on YouTube and I see what you are saying. On Instagram the sound is even and normal but for whatever reason on YouTube the sound levels have been warped. Next time I upload a video, I can keep and eye on this and make sure the sound levels are consistent. Thanks for letting me know!

@Stuart Moores Textiles Thank you for checking the issue ❤
Have a great day ^^

Turns out I've been relying too much on the weak fabric around holes, in high stress areas, and didn't even realize it--explains why my mending hasn't been successful. Thank you for the tip, I was ready to give up! Would not have figured it out on my own.

So happy this helped! Happy stitching! :)

A great way to avoid the Fast Fashion problem. Did not even consider mending stretchy clothes. Thanks!

You are so welcome!

I love visible mending, but I am so wary of doing it in places where I don't want to draw any extra attention! (like the inner thigh area) These are some great tips I'll be sure to keep in mind!

I totally get that. All of these techniques can be used for invisible mending too! ☺️👍

I’ve been charged with saving my husband’s favorite shirt. It would probably be easier to make another but this denim shirt is already soft and he really really likes it. I need to reattach part of the collar, add a patch to 1 elbow so I’m doing both, the cuffs, y’all get it. 😂 Anyway, this video was inspiring and so helpful. I went thru many searches to finally something helpful. Thanks so much
