Hate Me Now
Mental Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Watching me closely
I can hear them talk
But they don't even know me
Wanna hate me, hate me
Tell me what can i do
I can honestly say
I don't deserve it from you
I'm not the type that gets upset
Hate me now
Disrespects to earn respect
Hate me now
Jealousy and envy are dumb one's tools
Hate me now
So i'll do nothing but keep my cool
Everyone has an opinion
They got something to say
None of that matters at the end of the day
I'll just worry about being myself
And not waste my time on anyone else
I'm not the type that gets upset
Hate me now
Disrespects to earn respect
Hate me now
Jealousy and envy are dumb one's tools
Hate me now
So i'll do nothing but keep my cool
Hate, hate me
Hate me now
Hate, hate me
Hate me now
In these lyrics, Mental addresses the way people perceive him and how they talk about him behind his back. He acknowledges that people want to hate him, but he questions why they feel that way without even knowing him. Despite this, Mental maintains his composure and refuses to let the hate affect him. He understands that jealousy and envy can drive people to act stupidly, and he is determined to stay cool and be true to himself.
The lyrics also reveal Mental's outlook on criticism and opinions. He acknowledges that everyone has something to say, but he doesn't let that weigh on him. Mental recognizes that he can only control his own actions and decisions, and he chooses to focus on being himself rather than wasting his time worrying about what others think of him. He knows that he's not the type of person to get upset by hate, disrespect, or envy, and he's ready to face it head-on.
Overall, "Hate Me Now" is a powerful anthem of self-confidence and resilience. Mental shows that he's not afraid to stand up to hate and negativity, and he's committed to being himself no matter what others may think. Through this, he inspires listeners to stay true to themselves and not let anyone else define their worth or identity.
