Legion Of Lepers
Mentallo & The Fixer Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

It′s dying time tonight it's dying time
While I′m watching you in the mainline
Prosthetic divide you close your hand
Grip them to the ground
On no now they're watching you-
You never wll be found
And all the fire in their eyes-
You turn away you see God's sacrifice
Altered states of mind
Altered states while I′m crushing you
In the mainline-
You know I see angels everywhere
They′re falling from the sky
Oh no they're watching you-

You never will defy anger let it show-
See now the anger- let it grow

Overall Meaning

The song "Legion of Lepers" by Mentallo & The Fixer is packed with intense and cryptic lyrics that deal with complex themes like isolation, alienation, and psychological turmoil. The opening lines, "It's dying time tonight, it's dying time, while I'm watching you in the mainline" suggests a sense of urgency and despair, as if something tragic is about to happen. The phrase "prosthetic divide" is also used, which might be interpreted as a metaphor for artificial barriers we create between ourselves, or simply the distraction of technology causing a disconnection between individuals.

In the chorus, the lyrics "Altered states of mind, Altered states while I'm crushing you, In the mainline," are repeated, suggesting that the singer or protagonist is in some type of altered state of mind. They are also crushing whoever they are talking to, and the mainline could mean they are in a state of intense focus, as in a drug-induced haze or a sort of obsession. The line "You know I see angels everywhere, They're falling from the sky" could be read in a few different ways. It could be interpreted as a vision of death or as a metaphor for the chaos and unpredictability of life. The song ends with the line "See now the anger, let it grow," which further underscores the emotional state of the singer or protagonist, and suggests a sense of anger, perhaps towards society or even towards oneself.

I think I can now safely say this has become one of my favourite Industrial tracks of all time

James McRae

I love how relentless, in your face, and unapologetic the repetitious synth melodies and pounding drum machines are and how well they compliment the general noise and din of this. Some of my favourite Industrial music and partly why I love the genre so much in general is because of stuff like this that seems to strike a sort of careful balance between melodic order and abrasive chaotic noise that is so satisfying IMO

James McRae

Absolutely wonderful, exquisite, sends me to a higher dimension.
