It was born in 1991 in Caen, Normandy. They play amusing and/or traditional songs inspired by Quebec songs. They started by singing real traditional songs and then invented new ones.
The band has a great experience of the scene and usually invite people to dance and participate.
Today, since François Boros is gone, there is no more any initial creator of the band, Emmanuel (Manu) Savinelli, Dominique Adrix (Jimi) and François Boros.
December 2006, they decided to stop (at least for a moment) their common activity, to continue each one alone.

Faisant une p'tite place dans sa bière ;
“Cahin-caha” is a French song by Mes Souliers Sont Rouges that tells the story of a man who lived a lonely life until he fell in love with a wooden doll. The song begins by describing the man as a hard worker who would end his day with a drink at the local bar. However, he was also a bit of a pervert who would get aroused by women walking by, but nonetheless, he remained lonely and dreamt of finding love.
One day, he stumbled upon a wooden doll and became infatuated with her. He tried to present her to the priest and the mayor to ask for their blessings, but they ridiculed him. His mother, who had already passed away, turned in her grave when she heard about her son's love affair. The man's father passed by, and without any hesitation, he climbed into the grave to be with his son.
Eventually, the wooden doll transforms into a real person, and the man finally finds love, even if it is with an unconventional partner. The song’s title “Cahin-caha” is a French expression used to describe something that moves in a jerky or uneven motion, which could be referring to the main character's lonely and unsteady life.

C'était un homme, un beau un vrai
He was a man, strong and sturdy
One for whom they'd make the mast of the ships
Des bateaux qui s'en vont là-bas
Ships that sail away far off
C'était un de ces gars-là qui
He was one of those guys who
Une fois le boulot fini,
After finishing work
S'en allait boire un coup là-bas
Would go drink somewhere

He was a guy so-so
Et il allait cahin-caha

Se serait passé la corde au cou
Would have given up on life

But at fancy parties
Au p'tit musette, à la guinguette

Making a little space in her coffin;
Passait par ici son vieux père
His old father was passing by
Qui sans hésiter y plongea
Who without hesitation jumped in
Refrain (bis)
