It was born in 1991 in Caen, Normandy. They play amusing and/or traditional songs inspired by Quebec songs. They started by singing real traditional songs and then invented new ones.
The band has a great experience of the scene and usually invite people to dance and participate.
Today, since François Boros is gone, there is no more any initial creator of the band, Emmanuel (Manu) Savinelli, Dominique Adrix (Jimi) and François Boros.
December 2006, they decided to stop (at least for a moment) their common activity, to continue each one alone.

Que tout ne va pas
Quand plus rien n'est droit
Que tout est de guingois
On peut essayer de souffler dans un joli roseau percé
Jouer un petit air de flûte
Ou bien faire une petite turlutte
Turlutte avant d'aller au lit fait passer bonne nuit {x2}
Quand plus rien ne va
Que tout ne va pas
Quand plus rien n'est droit
Que tout est de guingois
On peut aller dans la forêt
Et avec des branches coupées
Se construire une jolie cahute
Jouer un petit air de flûte
Ou bien faire une petite turlutte
Turlutte avant d'aller au lit fait passer bonne nuit {x2}
Quand plus rien ne va
Que tout ne va pas
Quand plus rien n'est droit
Que tout est de guingois
On peut comme faisaient les trouvères
Sur quelques cordes jouer un air
En se grattant la peau du luth
Se construire une jolie cahute
Jouer un petit air de flûte
Ou bien faire une petite turlutte
Turlutte avant d'aller au lit fait passer bonne nuit {x2}
Turlutte avant d'aller au lit fait passer bonne nuit {x2}
The lyrics of Mes Souliers Sont Rouges's song "Quand plus rien ne va" (When Nothing Goes Right) reflect the idea of finding joy and comfort in small things during difficult times. The song starts by describing a situation where "nothing goes right" and "nothing is straight" but suggests coping mechanisms such as playing a flute or singing a small tune to ease the pain. The repetitiveness of the lyrics emphasizes the need to hold on to these small joys to make it through tough times, as shown by the line "Turlutte avant d'aller au lit fait passer bonne nuit" ("Singing a tune before going to bed helps have a good night's sleep").
As the song continues, the suggested coping mechanisms change. The second verse proposes building a shelter in the forest with branches and playing a flute to pass the time. The third verse then references troubadours, medieval poets and musicians from southern France, playing a lute to lift one's mood. In the final verse, the lyrics take an unexpected turn and suggest sitting on shards of glass or nails to "tear the bottom of one's pants" while also playing a tune on the lute and singing a "turlutte".
Overall, "Quand plus rien ne va" is a song about finding solace in music and simple pleasures when life gets tough, even if it means tearing one's clothes or sitting on uncomfortable surfaces. It demonstrates the resilience of the human spirit and how people can find joy in unexpected places and even in the midst of difficult situations.
