@Story time Imao absolutely NOT, meteor garden is much better, the story is more worked than Boys before flowers, the actors and actresses are better too, no to metion the visually and sound quality (I know that is meteor garden is more recently, but the scenes look be more thinked), and the adaptations are better, make the story more interesting. That's my opinion, but I love the 2 dramas xD

for a person who watched all version(although i've never finish the japanese & chinese ver, but in a verge to), nah i stand for the original ver. both the show and the casts. no matter how many times i watched it and although it's old af, it never fail to make me feel different emotions and i never got bored. i also find the main character there less annoying idk why. for this version, i pulled on my hair in irritation so much it's concerning. just sharing my opinion tho.

I started to watch this show 2 weeks ago because I had nothing to watch, and honestly I expected nothing. But it was everything I could ever hope for. Everyday I was so excited to watch it in the evening and I had to slow myself down because i didn’t want to finish it too soon. I have only 5 episodes left and I don’t want it to end. Srsly no other show has ever gave me these type of feelings. When they were happy, I was happy. When they cried, I cried as well. I fell in love with all of the characters and their development. Literally this will be my favorite show ever😭

All the casts are perfect for their roles especially the main characters daoming si and shancai. A beautiful story with all the love angles, not just rich guy poor girl story. It’s a beautiful version of the manga series. Chemistry of the main casts is perfect and therefore worth watching during this pandemic time. I hope daoming si and shancai will have another drama to look forward to.

to everyone saying this relationship was toxic, it was a bit toxic at first , but especially in this version, he changes tremendously, and unlike most movies, this romance takes it times to evolve and the lead only wins the girl after he's molded himself into a better man with his determination and love for her. Such that, when they do get together, its not toxic anymore since he's variably changed and the heroine changes him for the better . It doesn't support toxic relationships, it just proves that even the most volatile relationships can evolve over time with effort and grow into something very mature.

This series is my happy pill. I love watching it so much, it's like I'm addicted. I've watched and rewatched the episodes randomly countless times. I love Shancai and Daoming Si's love story so much. The OSTs are so good and knowing that the actors sang some of the OSTs also endeared me to the show. Two years after, this show still feels so fresh and definitely a classic. I'm yet to watch any other thing that tops the love and feels I have for MG 2018 ❤❤❤❤

I just finished this drama, took me 2 years to finally tried watching it and I regretted not watching it earlier. I hesitated & doubted if this version could make up for the beautiful story of original Meteor Garden and its casts, but wow, it has exceeded my expectations. It was beautiful on its own. Went through one hell of a rollercoaster ride, but it was absolutely worth it! The friendship built by F4, as well as Shancai’s close friends including Xiaozou (I don’t know if that’s the right spelling lol) was so precious.. during Si & Shancai’s difficult & hopeless times, they were always there to support the two. I feel like crying whenever I hear their soundtracks 😭 I really love the original Meteor Garden, it always have a special place in my heart, but so does this drama too ❤️ They have amazingly produced a refreshing & well-written storyline. They have managed to add new characters & significant events while being able to retain the original story. So much love for F4 😭💖 AND Shancai and Si’s love story will always be one of the greatest love stories ever written. The two went through a lot, imagine giving us 2 episodes of happy moments while hitting us back with 5 episodes of tear-jerking scenes 😭 my heart broke many times.. but it was all worth it!!! I am very much happy to have witnessed their love story. It may be fictional, but it has grown deeply into me. We really ought to treasure the people whom we shared all the happy and difficult times with. So much love for this drama! 💖😭

Well...3 years ago i was so excited watching this trailer and waiting for it to release. I can clearly remember that I can't sleep because of this .. Then now 2021, i came back again and the feelings i felt during those times are still there. I joined this trend late cause f4 which is the thai version is coming in june-july and I wanted to know how the story goes and WOAH this drama did not disappoint. I went head first into it and ended up finishing it in 2 days cause there wasn't ONE moment that was cringy or too much which I wanted to skip. I started it hating daoming si and fell in love with the transformation he and shancai had. This drama is absolutely phenomenal with the cast, story, song choices, locations, production everything. I wouldn't have it any other way 👏🏼💗

Thanks to Cang Lan Jue, I’m now a huge fan of Wang HeDi. I was truly blown away by his performance as Dong Fang Qing Cang (now halfway through the masterpiece) considering Meteor Garden is his first drama. Will give this drama a try, though I’m not a huge fan of BoF K version.

We’ll pretend MTD doesn’t exist. With the right support and care in production, it’s clear he has a lot of potential. Can’t wait to see more of his works and his appearances in variety shows are a joy to watch.

@Wallflower Colleen definitely, 18 years was the difference between 2 versions..video quality, fashion, technicality,not to mention the huge difference of budgets,you do the math, but there will be an argument if we will talk bout how they act and portrayed their characters.. 2018 mg targets mellineals.. I'm 40yrs old and I will lie if I said I didn't like 2018 version.. but 2001 has a huge place in my heart and creates wonderful memories..

I just finished watching the entire drama like an hour ago and I’ll just say this show went beyond my expectations. The cast, characters, ost, locations, EVERYTHING is just stuck in my mind! I don’t understand how I’ll get over this drama, this is a masterpiece and I highly recommend it! This is my first cdrama and I enjoyed watching it so much, I was hooked and couldnt stop watching till the last episode. Not to give any spoilers but episode 41 where they have a bitter sweet goodbye is the most heart wrenching to watch. Also, why didn't Shancai's parents attend the wedding? That's the only part that made me feel a type of way but other than this I loved everything about the show

Although Hana Yori Dango, Meteor Garden 2001 and Boys Over Flowers are all based in the same manga they have their differences. Watching this version based in this time where there’s social media and phones everywhere is so refreshing. And this one is like a mashup from those 3 versions. It’s so good. I admire every version because they are unique in their own way. The main couple is so cute and Dylan is such a dork. I’m in love with this drama. If a remake of the other versions is made I will definitely watch it.

This version shancai is beautiful, less clumsy , and very strong Shen Yue nailed Dong Shancai!! And Daoming Si was a childish brat at the beginning but his childhood was really heartbreaking. The way he changes himself for Shancai was speechless. Dylan Wang is the only Daoming Si for me!!

I have watched it til episode 25, and omg I just wanna say that this remake makes me so happy. Some people might say that the plotline is dumb, but the Taiwanese and Korean version were my childhood, and it makes me really happy to experience it all again. The main characters are all very good actors, they're all very pretty and handsome, and the off screen interactions are soo cute that it makes my heart flutter 💖 Shen Yue is so smol and cute, I think she really did a great job portraying Shancai! Dylan Wang look dominant, but acts cute and childish when he's with Shancai, and that's just the cutests thing ever 💗 Darren Chen, of course, is so handsome, and his backstory is really sad as always, I hope he'd find happiness T.T Caesar Wu and Connor Liong are both so handsome too?? Like omg where did the director find these handsome people?😂 I spent the last few days fangirling over Dylan×Shen Yue behind the scenes cute videos, and actually I am making a fanart rn 💖💖💖

This meteor garden is the best. The story line though similar to the Taiwanese version the variation was wonderful. I like how F4 image wasn't bad and incite violence as the tai and s Korean versions. And Si never slapped her. The cast was well selected especially Doming Si role. Wow. Love it. Watched it over several times. I love all the versions Doming si but this version was the best

i love this version even though its similar to other versions, its unique in its own way and it has a lot of different scenarios that wasn't included in other versions that makes this so much more better. I would highly recommend to anyone who's a fan of the series or manga

@Samantha T the main lead character is in fact closest to the manga one. In the other adaptations they made him more of an extreme bully when really he's just a little childish and stuff like in this version. out of all adaptations this is by far one of the best tbh. I've seen almost all of them and this one is safe to say that the lead deserves the girl because he genuinely loves her

This drama adaption was the totally the best the characters was so well written even the second female leads had so much depth and dignity in their character who valued friendship over love and learnt to move on which u rarely see in these kind of dramas there was not even a single irritating character even the person who played the evil mother was such a great character 👍👍👍👍👍😊😊😊

I've watched the Korean version which I only finished because Lee Min Ho is gorgeous. It was agonizing to watch. The Japanese version had good structure but lacked depth. This one makes me smile. I'm currently on episode 14 and still loving it. Dylan Wang is so charismatic and strikes all the right notes, plus he has good chemistry with Shen Rue.
