Overall Meaning

The lyrics of "Bonus" by Michael describe a woman who has caught a body at a party and is now acting aloof towards the singer, who sings about the remorse he feels for his actions. He acknowledges that he could have handled the situation differently, but instead, he "didn't fall back." He advises the woman not to give herself away to anyone else, but he also seems to be struggling with his own emotions. He feels lost and overwhelmed and says he doesn't know who to turn to for help. Although he is high, it doesn't seem to be bringing him any comfort.

The lyrics reveal a common theme found in many popular rap songs - the glorification of partying, drugs, and casual sex, as well as the regret and melancholy that often follows. Michael delves deep into the emotions of the singer and the subject of his affections. The song is very relatable to many young people who have experienced similar situations, where they are trying to navigate love, lust, and regret.

@szczypior2714

That play from Oscar was brilliant tbh

He knew Michael would take the chance to sound smart

@wine_coconut1003

Michael didn't do the math beforehand to sound smart. He did so to figure out how much money he'd get after returning the surplus.

@szczypior2714

@wine_coconut I know that. But when Oscar asked him what was essentially a difficult math equasion, Michael's incentive to answer was that it would make him look smart

@szczypior2714

@wine_coconut And by answering he revealed that he did the math beforehand thus confirming to the rest of the office that he was trying to figure out how much money he'd get from the surplus

@Krawna

@@szczypior2714I don't he was trying to sound smart. Michael is an impulsive person and blurts out if he knows something. He knew the answer to that question so it automatically came out. If he was trying to act smart he wouldn't have said dollars

@BeRealForReal

@@KrawnaThat's why it's called "act smart" because he really isn't smart 😂.

@akshataggarwal9102

"What's 15% of 200?"
"Thank you."
Classic Oscar😂

@Ndizzyinthehizzy

Probably one of my favorite Oscar moments.

@bibliotheek357

There's actually a cool trick you can use to sometimes make the calculation easier. Most people would calculate this by determine 10% of 200 (=20) and 5% of 200 (=10) and add them together to reach 30.

But you can swap the percentages around, by multiplying 15% by 100 and dividing 200 by 100 to write it as: 2% of 1500. For some that may be quicker because 1% of 1500 is simply 15 and 2% would be double of that, so it's 30.

There are better examples where this trick can help out a lot. For example, 7% of 5000 would take a few seconds or more for most people. But if you swap it around to 50% of 700, the answer becomes obviously 350.

@carlosbarzottowirti1895

@Alexander T the first example you gave lost me, too much for a simple calculation.

The second example was spot on, I've used it before and it works like a charm. And it's far more easier.

For instance, what's 4% of 75? The same as 75% of 4. Knowing that "quarters" (25, 50 and 75) are 1/4, 1/2 and 3/4 also helps
