Michael Bublé’s introduction to the music of the swing era came to him through his grandfather, who filled his grandson’s ears with the sounds of The Mills Brothers, Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, and others. As Bublé eagerly absorbed the recordings, he began to realize that he wanted to be a singer and that this style of music, virtually foreign to his own generation, was what he wanted to perform.
With his grandfather’s assistance, Bublé soon learned a whole catalog of tunes and gained experience and exposure by singing as a guest with several local bands. While still in his teen years, he won the Canadian Youth Talent Search, released several independent albums, and performed in a musical review titled Swing that traveled across the U.S. It wasn’t long before Bublé was introduced to Grammy-winning producer David Foster during a famous Canadian wedding of Brian Mulroney’s daughter Caroline Mulroney. He later signed his first major recording contract with Reprise Records after that encounter.
The two Canadians began work on a debut album that would incorporate Bublé’s aptitude for pop standards into songs that spanned several decades. His self-titled debut disc was released in early 2003, and featured jazzy takes on old standards like “Fever” and “The Way You Look Tonight” as well as newer classics like “Moondance” and “How Can You Mend A Broken Heart”.
He finished off 2003 with an EP of holiday material, Let It Snow, and began 2004 with the live CD/DVD set Come Fly With Me. In 2005, It’s Time was a number one hit in Canada, Japan, Italy, and Australia, and made the top ten of both the UK and US. Later that year he released the live album Caught in the Act. More recently, Michael received a 2010 Grammy Award for 'Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album' for 'Michael Bublé Meets Madison Square Garden.

For me
I've been an awful good guy
Santa buddy, and hurry down the chimney tonight
Santa buddy, a sixty five convertible too
Steel blue
I'll wait up for you, dude
Think of all the fun I've missed
Think of all the hotties that I never kissed
Next year, I could be just as good
If you check off my Christmas list
Santa pally, I want a yacht and really that's not a lot
I've been a sweetie all year
Santa buddy, so hurry down the chimney tonight
Santa buddy, one thing that I really do need
The deed
To a platinum mine
Santa pally, so hurry down the chimney tonight
Santa buddy, fill my stocking with Canucks tix
For kicks
Throw me on the first line
Santa baby, so hurry down the chimney tonight
Come and trim my Christmas tree
With some decorations bought at Mercedes
I really do believe in you
Now let's see if you believe in me
Santa poppy, forgot to mention one little thing
Cha-ching
No, I don't mean as a loan
Santa buddy, so hurry down the chimney tonight
Hurry down the chimney tonight
Oh, hurry down the chimney tonight
The lyrics to Michael Bublé's song Baby can be interpreted in different ways depending on the perspective of the listener. Some people find them humorous and playful, while others argue that they are materialistic and greedy. In the first verse, the singer seems to be asking Santa for a Rolex and acknowledges that he has been good this year. He further asks for a sixty five convertible, being sure to add the color steel blue. The insinuation here is that the singer is expecting to receive these gifts as rewards for being a “good guy”.
In the second verse, the singer continues to appeal to Santa Claus for nicer things. He talks about how he has missed out on fun and hasn’t kissed many hot girls, implying that getting a Rolex and a convertible could potentially fix that. He goes on to ask for a yacht and the deed to a platinum mine. The chorus echoes the singer’s desire for presents and Santa’s quick arrival. The lyrics may be pointing at a culture of anyone can buy anything if they really want it, materialistic preoccupations with objects not necessarily being the path to happiness or fulfillness.
In conclusion, the lyrics to Michael Bublé's song Baby convey the singer's materialistic desires, and the obsession with getting more of everything to make oneself feel better. Moreover, it portrays the commercialization of Christmas and the misplaced priorities of people who think that material things are the key to happiness.
