Michael Bublé’s introduction to the music of the swing era came to him through his grandfather, who filled his grandson’s ears with the sounds of The Mills Brothers, Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, and others. As Bublé eagerly absorbed the recordings, he began to realize that he wanted to be a singer and that this style of music, virtually foreign to his own generation, was what he wanted to perform.
With his grandfather’s assistance, Bublé soon learned a whole catalog of tunes and gained experience and exposure by singing as a guest with several local bands. While still in his teen years, he won the Canadian Youth Talent Search, released several independent albums, and performed in a musical review titled Swing that traveled across the U.S. It wasn’t long before Bublé was introduced to Grammy-winning producer David Foster during a famous Canadian wedding of Brian Mulroney’s daughter Caroline Mulroney. He later signed his first major recording contract with Reprise Records after that encounter.
The two Canadians began work on a debut album that would incorporate Bublé’s aptitude for pop standards into songs that spanned several decades. His self-titled debut disc was released in early 2003, and featured jazzy takes on old standards like “Fever” and “The Way You Look Tonight” as well as newer classics like “Moondance” and “How Can You Mend A Broken Heart”.
He finished off 2003 with an EP of holiday material, Let It Snow, and began 2004 with the live CD/DVD set Come Fly With Me. In 2005, It’s Time was a number one hit in Canada, Japan, Italy, and Australia, and made the top ten of both the UK and US. Later that year he released the live album Caught in the Act. More recently, Michael received a 2010 Grammy Award for 'Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album' for 'Michael Bublé Meets Madison Square Garden.
Call Me Irresponsible
Michael Bublé Lyrics

Call me unreliable
Throw in undependable, too
Do my foolish alibis bore you?
Well, I'm not too clever, I
I just adore you
Tell me I'm impractical
Rainbows, I'm inclined to pursue
Call me irresponsible
Yes, I'm unreliable
But it's undeniably true
That I'm irresponsibly mad for you
Do my foolish alibis bore you?
Girl, I'm not too clever, I
I just adore you
Call me unpredictable
Tell me that I'm so impractical
Rainbows, I'm inclined to pursue
Go ahead, call me irresponsible
Yes, I'm unreliable
But it's undeniably true
I'm irresponsibly mad for you
You know it's true
Oh, baby, you do
The song "Call Me Irresponsible" is a playful and whimsical declaration of love by Michael Bublé. It begins with Bublé admitting to being irresponsible, unreliable, and undependable while questioning whether he bores his love interest with his foolish alibis. Despite all his shortcomings and imperfections, he confesses his love for the person and asks to be called unpredictable and impractical. He likens his pursuit of her to a rainbow, something beautiful and fleeting, perhaps suggesting that love itself is also beautiful but unlikely to last forever.
Bublé continues to admit his irresponsibility and unreliability, but claims that his love for her is "undeniably true" and that he is "mad" for her. The song overall is a lighthearted and fun expression of love that is both honest and self-aware. Bublé seems to be willing to laugh at his own flaws, which make him more endearing to the listener.
Overall, the song is about the universal experience of falling in love and the joyous feelings it brings, even when paired with one's own shortcomings. It is a reminder that love can be unpredictable, irrational, and even reckless, but ultimately worth it for the happiness it brings.

I love that he uses an actual brass band. So many performers forget that it's not all about them gyrating like maniacs. Just a good tune and a good singer. Fortunately for Mr Bublé he is a great singer!
