Michael Bublé’s introduction to the music of the swing era came to him through his grandfather, who filled his grandson’s ears with the sounds of The Mills Brothers, Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, and others. As Bublé eagerly absorbed the recordings, he began to realize that he wanted to be a singer and that this style of music, virtually foreign to his own generation, was what he wanted to perform.
With his grandfather’s assistance, Bublé soon learned a whole catalog of tunes and gained experience and exposure by singing as a guest with several local bands. While still in his teen years, he won the Canadian Youth Talent Search, released several independent albums, and performed in a musical review titled Swing that traveled across the U.S. It wasn’t long before Bublé was introduced to Grammy-winning producer David Foster during a famous Canadian wedding of Brian Mulroney’s daughter Caroline Mulroney. He later signed his first major recording contract with Reprise Records after that encounter.
The two Canadians began work on a debut album that would incorporate Bublé’s aptitude for pop standards into songs that spanned several decades. His self-titled debut disc was released in early 2003, and featured jazzy takes on old standards like “Fever” and “The Way You Look Tonight” as well as newer classics like “Moondance” and “How Can You Mend A Broken Heart”.
He finished off 2003 with an EP of holiday material, Let It Snow, and began 2004 with the live CD/DVD set Come Fly With Me. In 2005, It’s Time was a number one hit in Canada, Japan, Italy, and Australia, and made the top ten of both the UK and US. Later that year he released the live album Caught in the Act. More recently, Michael received a 2010 Grammy Award for 'Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album' for 'Michael Bublé Meets Madison Square Garden.
Pennies from Heaven

Don't you know each cloud contains pennies from heaven?
You'll find your fortune falling all over the town
Be sure that your umbrella is upside down
Trade them for a package of sunshine and sunflowers
If you want the things you love, you must have showers
So, when you hear it thunder, don't run under a tree
Every time it rains, it rains pennies from heaven
Don't you know each cloud contains pennies from heaven?
Trade them for a package of sunshine and flowers
If you want the things you love, you've got to have showers
Every time it rains, it rains pennies from heaven
Don't you know that each cloud contains pennies from heaven?
You'll find your fortune's falling all over the town
Be sure that your umbrella is upside down
Trade them for a package of sunshine and flowers
If you want the things you love, you gotta have showers
So, when you hear it thunder, don't run under a tree
There'll be pennies from heaven for you and me
Pennies from heaven for you and me, for you and for me
In Michael Buble's song "Pennies from Heaven," the lyrics suggest a metaphorical way of thinking about the world we live in. The lyrics hint at the possibility of good things coming out of bad situations, and even when it's raining, there's a chance for good fortune to come our way. The phrase "pennies from heaven" is the material manifestation of that fortune, and they come to the people who are willing to face the rain and collect them rather than run under a tree for shelter.
The song tells us that each time it rains, there is a possibility for pennies to fall from the sky, which represents the idea that every dark cloud has a silver lining. The song also touches on the idea of manifestation and the law of attraction, which suggests that if you want something, you must be willing to go through the rain to get it. By collecting pennies, you can trade them in for a "package of sunshine and flowers," which represents the good things that come to you if you go through the rough times.
At its core, "Pennies from Heaven" is a song about optimism, perseverance, and the idea that life is not always perfect, and it's important to find joy in the small, magical moments that seemingly fall out of the sky. The song's lyrics embrace the power of hope, reminding us that sometimes, we need to be patient and wait for the rain to pass, because there might just be pennies from heaven waiting for us on the other side.
