This was my dad's favourite song. He used to play it on repeat during our long trips and he used to be so nostalgic. Now that I'm older I think I can understand him. He came from Albania to Italy when he was only 18 years old to escape, for a new future? ...I still don't know, but it was hard for him. I can't really imagine what can mean taking a boat full of people and to not eat and drink for days. And he's not the type of person who complains. He also went to the hospital a lot of times because of some serious problems and no one was here with him. In fact, no one really cared.

We played this at our dad’s funeral, it was so beautiful and true-we lost our mom 5 years before that and couldn’t believe it. We were too young to have this happen (I had just served in the military-I was able to get back to the east coast on my birthday and one month later my mom was gone). My dad tried so hard to move forward as best he could but in the end, I think he just wanted to see mom again. I thought I’d be brave enough to hear this song now without crying but that’s not the case-apologies for rambling, thank you for this song and though I don’t believe I can ever hear it again without tears, it reminds me my parents are at peace when I’m feeling alone and missing them more than I care to express. Be well

Living and working 1,700 km away, I play this song every time I make the trip home. I'm here, listening to this song with tears in my eyes. I have been working far away from my family for over two years now, and I had a surgery two weeks. While in the theatre, my body couldn't stand the Ketamine which was supposed to make me sleep and for some reasons, I had an out of body experience in the theatre, saw my levitating in the air outside of my own body. Several hours after I was rolled into a ward, I regained consciousness but felt so all alone.

That night was long for me. I missed my family even more and what kept ringing in my head was 'Home'. I'm listening to this, wondering how I have spent these years staying away from those I love. Thank you, Michael. I find solace in this song as it means a lot to me.
