Primum caelum abiit, et prima terra abiit
Terra novum et caelum a Deo
Deo descendentem, a Deo.
Terra novam, caelum novum,
Novam Ierusalem, novam Ierusalem, Terra novam,
Terra novam et caelum
Afferent Gloriam honorem gentium in ilam Prima terra abiit
Terra novam et caelum, Prima terra abiit
Terra novum et caelum
Terra novum et caelum
O gloria, gloria
Terra novam et caelum, quae prima abierunt
Terra gloria
Amen.
The lyrics of Michael Curran's song Civilization V Theme: Menu Music are contemplative and evocative. The song seems to speak of a new world being created by God, where the old world has passed away. The first two lines, "Vidi caelum novum, Terra novam a Deo," which means "I saw a new heaven and a new earth from God," set the tone for the rest of the song.
The following lines, "Primum caelum abiit, et prima terra abiit," which means "the first heaven and the first earth have passed away," give the impression that the world as we know it is being transformed. The song then goes on to describe this new world, where there is "no more sea," and where God himself will "descend" to this new earth.
The repeated phrases "terra novam et caelum" and "novam Ierusalem" reinforce the idea of a new world being created. The song ends with the word "amen," which is usually interpreted as a statement of agreement, but in this case, it seems to be a statement of affirmation of the new world being created.

"Lush, fertile land"
Zooms out and it's literally a tiny valley surrounded by high mountains on every side which could hold maybe a few hundred people tops and probably not even that many.

@@stormspirit9783 Terrace farming, and more importantly river. Lots of civilization that came from mountainous range like that. Few hundred people really? How about Tibetan Empire? Or Armenian Empire?
