With the release of their first Alligator album "Bloodlines" in 1994, Michael Hill's Blues Mob immediately established themselves as a cutting-edge, premier contemporary blues band with original music of uncommon power and conviction. "Bloodlines" went on to earn the Living Blues Critic's award for Debut Blues Album of the Year, as well a slew of other rave reviews. The next four years saw the band release two more highly acclaimed albums on Alligator Records, with "Have Mercy!" (1996) and "New York State Of Blues" (1998) collecting their own choruses of excellent reviews. The cheering continued on the road: Michael Hill's Blues Mob has been described as a dynamic, crowd-pleasing live act, receiving much love from audiences and lighting up the stage at the Chicago Blues Festival, Memphis In May and other festivals and clubs. They've done numerous tours, playing festivals and clubs in England, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, France, Norway and the rest of Europe and Scandinavia as well as tours in Turkey, Russia and five trips each to Brazil and Australia.
The New Millennium saw Michael Hill's Blues Mob release their fourth album in 2001 on Singular Records in the U.S. and Dixiefrog in Europe, and "Suite: Larger Than Life" earned the Mob’s very positive reviews overall.

Hey I know the reason why
Well I know you don't love me
Baby I know the reason why
Well you take all of my money
And you treat me like a child
Like a little child
Baby done been here and gone
Well now the woman I love
Well done been here and gone
Well now if things don't change
You know I ain't gonna be here long
Be here long
I ain't gonna be here long, ain't gonna be here long (repeat 5 times)
She's gone, she's gone, she's gone, she's gone boy, she's gone, she's gone
For long, how I miss ya baby, she's gone
Oh, my baby's gone, she's gone
I'm ain't gonna be here long
Well I'm leaving my baby
And I really don't want to go
Well I'm leaving my baby
And I really don't want to go
Well she got her another man
And she don't want me no more
She don't want me no more (repeat)
It's alright, it's alright boy,
It's alright, it's alright, alright, alright, it's alright babe!
Yeah hey! It's alright darling
The lyrics to Michael Hill's Blues Mob's song "She's Gone" tell the story of a man who knows that his woman does not truly love him. He acknowledges that he's aware of the reason why she doesn't love him and that she takes advantage of him by taking all of his money and treating him like a child. The chorus repeats the phrase "she's gone" over and over again, emphasizing that the woman he loves has left him. He expresses the pain of her absence and how much he misses her, but ultimately decides to leave her because she has found someone else and doesn't want him anymore. The final lines, "It's alright babe! Yeah hey! It's alright darling," suggest that the singer is trying to convince himself that he's okay with the situation, even if he's clearly not.
