He also composed music for several movies and TV series. Hoenig started as an underground magazine reporter in Germany and quickly took part in formation of progressive rock scene in Germany. For example, he worked with Tangerine Dream and Timewind. In 1978 he released his first solo album, "Departure from the Northern Wasteland," a piece of avant-garde electronic music. He then moved to the United States, where he released his second solo album - Xcept One (1987). In 1996, he was nominated for an Emmy award for the theme song to the TV series "Dark Skies."

Omg, almost 25 years hace passed since that day...

I was in high school and a fiend ask me to go to his house after school because he had installed a new rpg and needed help to create a new character to play it. I used to play ad&d, so he knew i could help well.

I was already shocked by the intro and the character creation process, but...omg...when we finished the creation and the prologue started with this music...omg...the emotion I felt in that moment is something beyond explanation...

Nostalgia. What a wonderful era. Soon, it'll have been a quarter of a century since the release of Baldur's Gate. After that, 50 years, and then...2100 will arrive. We were able to witness multiple revolutions in the early days of gaming, including the dawn of the Internet. We're very lucky.

@Nutellix Didn't annoyi me, but its' true. the 'obviousness' of the plot is there. But, all of us who were non spoiled probably were just excited to play a legit dnd game that we weren't even looking for clues. Just grabbed our fighting sticks, did our fetch quests, read the tutorial peeps' spam, and went out intot he wide world. LMAO It sounds like I'm bashing but I'm not. :D

When something so great as this had been created. You're surely well know this here game will be those timeless games that can never be deleted in all gamers hearts. These OSTs really bring out those ol' days of CRPG. My character was a half-elf mage from the Moon Elf Kingdom; specialized in abjuration. The coolest thing was I can export my character to other extensions of Baldur's Gate. Right up to BGII! But sadly that's where my character's adventure ends (and I think for all players of BGI & BGII) as BGIII can't accept the old format... And that's the saddest part! R.I.P. STORM DANCER! YOU'LL BE MISSED...

I am saddened that we will never receive another experience like the Baldur's Gate series; the writing, the graphics, the gameplay, the voice acting and the overall depth...perfect. My only genuine complaint is that not all of the main NPC lines were voiced (and I only raise this complaint because I enjoyed the voice actors and desired more of their contributions).

I heard this for a first time when I was 15 y/o. Begining of the summer holidays in Poland '99, warm night and grashopers outside. I was playing BG from dusk till dawn with my beloved cats sitting on my CRT. I was so happy...

The "world was better" in 1999 for children or the manifestly ignorant (i.e., those with not a care in the world); medicine, communications technology, information technology, transportation technology, civil rights and so on and so forth are better now than they were then. @Ragitsu I can tell that all you guys/gals are from the younger generation. The slightly older ones will remember the right wing fury about violence in video games, and further back, satanism in DnD games.

Having that said, it is obvious that the pendulum has swung so far left that its almost snapping, the only thing that is left is government controlling what we can and cant view (they already do this in AUstralia, with R-18 rating on games banning all games with excessive violence and sexual content), and just because it is not affecting you personally, mark my words that you will regret being so blase when it finally comes knocking on your door...

HA ! I am glad i was not the only one doing that in my Morro folder : BG ost , Skyrim ost , NWN ost , LotR ost and some Warlords Battlecry 2 too which is underrated . I can say my exploration of Vvardenfell dozens of time over was as unforgettable as the first time thanks to these greats musics and all the mods out there .
