Past credits include composing the theme tune entitled "Soviet Connection" and the score for Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto 4. Also, the theme tune / some incidental music for Grand Theft Auto - San Andreas.

Other music projects include Pablo (hip-hop / breaks / funk) and Butch Cassidy Sound System (reggae / dub), on the following record labels : LTJ Bukem's Good Looking Records, Guidance , Soma/Fenetik , Freddy Fresh's Howlin' Records & Red Hook Recordings .

His music has also been used for TV shows, including CSI NY and Tour De France (UK coverage).

Imagine Niko who just got off the boat, absolutely unfamiliar with this huge city walking down these mean streets, looking for any opportunity to make money and to find a man who ruined him and killed his friends. When you hear his quote: "I grew up in the war, this means nothing" you know that he really means it and even Liberty City underworld isn't so tough for him. Absolutely badass and deep character.

In Gta IV you could Enjoy the missions, even if it was just giving Lil Jacob a lift, it just felt different. The soundtrack n radio was also simply Perfect. Even if you use crazy graphical mods, gta v just doesnt feel real. its just weird. Los Santos in V doesnt even look or feel like California,, the roads are waaay to wide which ruins everything. In IV the roads were also wide but not Extremely wide like in V. It felt like driving in NewYork for real. Lil details matter

@Markos eh, that's one hella long time reply post, but Las Venturas DOES exist in HD Universe. But most likely it has different layout from gta:sa version. The reason for me to state that is one simple fact: GTA IV has TV and you can watch advertisement including Las Venturas, with streets taken straight from GTA:SA (I clearly remember that I did see that ad). However, given the fact that Los Santos isn't connected to SF and/or LV, I'd say these cities are either separated from each other, or are located on one island together, not too far from LS.
There are also mentions about LV by the other characters, so if TV advertisement isn't enough proof, then how come they discuss such a place even? Perhaps, back in 2008 R* devs didn't think they'd have to separate SA on parts, hence why so many references to "old style San Andreas" exist.

I have played GTA IV (all three storylines). To date, its still the best GTA game ever made. It has heart to it and you can really associate yourself with Niko, it puts life/reality into perspective. No Hollywood make believe/nonsense, it has character, authenticity, and grit to it...that is what makes it great.

In other words, the tv show is heavily influenced by real-life motorcycle clubs, especially in the state of California. So, The Lost and Damned has a bit of legitimacy to how bikers operate. Thus, Johnny, Billy, Jason, Jim, and several others are some of the most authentic in the franchise.

This plays during the first cutscene, but was also the multiplayer match countdown theme. It played when the timer was within 1 minute of running out during whatever match and to indicate it was time to put the most effort for the finish. It’s easily my favourite version of Soviet Connection. Feels very threatening and special. Much better than the other versions. The footage here is priceless, fits perfectly!

No hate on GTA Online players tho. Everyone has their tastes and their choices. GTA IV is simply not that fondly remembered, unlike V or San Andreas, which are treated as milestones (respectfully so). But GTA IV wasn't supposed to be a milestone imo. It was a launch into something different, something daring, something dark, something gritty. Kinda like GTA III back in the day. IV had a few hits and misses, but storytelling and character design? GTA IV is definitely my favorite game of all time I remember the day I bought it still being a teenager I had never played a game like this before. Just looking at the cover and the few pictures it offered I couldn't resist I had to get it. This quickly became the only game I played and once I got xbox live GTA IV online opened up and that was a whole other experience and a half. I ended up making "Niko" my handle ingame/online and it stayed like that for 10+ years. Definitely got a deep nostalgic connection to this game. Time for another playthrough.

God, remember picking up IV in 2008 for the first time and playing through the story? I had gotten a PS3 for Christmas the year before, and gen 7 games felt like real life. On PS2 ever game had a light-hearted feel and a cartoony look, similar to PS4, whereas PS3 games were all dark and gritty, almost as if GTA IV, Uncharted, Assassin's Creed, World at War and real life were all in the same universe. I've never felt so immersed in a virtual world since.

I remember just turning 11 when my best friend got me GTA IV on PS3. Back then, I only had two games on my PS3, as I had just gotten it on Christmas. I came back from school, turned on the console, inserted the disc, and let the game get installed. As soon as I loaded into the first scene, I was simply blown away by graphics, driving physics, and the world itself. The last GTA that I had played before that was San Andreas, so there is a reason for my amazement.

From there on, I was so hooked to the game that I must have finished its storyline at least 10 times, each time choosing different options. I then signed up on PSN to experience the multiplayer; that's where I met some of my closest friends who are still with me to this day. So, whenever I hear the Soviet Connection, I get an influx of all the fond memories from my childhood.

P.S.
Last year, I was going to have my internship at the permanent mission of my country to the UN in NYC. However, due to COVID-19, it had to be put on the back burner indefinitely. Too bad I didn't get to walk in Manhattan while listening to this masterpiece

This will always be the best GTA, for story, atmosphere, and pure effort on Rockstar's part. San Andreas will always be the best feature wise, but IV is just that much more special. Nowadays they put the least effort into everything and beg you to buy Shark Cards. Absolute clowns.

The first few seconds sure gave me some chills... good ones, maybe.

By the way, I recently achieved 100% completion on such masterpiece that is gta iv.
(ironically enough, the last thing I needed to do was to win a full game of BOWLING, and I did it with Roman lmao)

There were days when I was so lost in my life that I did nothing but fire up GTA IV and drive around in Liberty City on a bike in night time, whenever I got free time (usually in night). The calm and silence of night, was therapeutic in a sense. No missions, no side quests, nothing. Just me, the bike, the night time setting and electro choc. Honestly, I distinctly remember crossing those bridges and pondering over the various things that were wrong with my life.

This video reminds me of that. Especially the part with the bridges. Sublime beauty of this video. GTA IV was the outstanding peak in GTA storytelling, in my opinion.

I remember the first time I played GTA IV, it was 2011 on Xbox 360 in a Lanhouse, I was so impressed with this... And now days I see that GTA IV is better than GTA V in many ways, rockstar should bring this game to PS4
